any complaints about the SLP setup??

I love the sound, i have heard it is loud, but does anybody not like it at all? I mean does it have the drone that Flowmasters are terrible about? If it isn't too bad inside the car noisewise then I would want to go with this, other wise I will have to settle for something else that will sound close.

I personally don't like it one bit but, exhaust is greatly dependant upon taste.

It's way too abnoxious for me. Maybe when I was younger I may had liked the attention but, you can't be sublte by any means with that set up.

Quality is excellent. Tips are the best looking I have ever seen on a Mustang Catback. I didn't like the sound much. With stock h-pipe it was ok. Sounds like glasspacks when you get on the pedal. With after-market h/x pipe it sounds like ass. Very very loud repulsive sound. My $.02

I have the catback setup with the stock h pipe and I think it sounds great but not nearly loud enough. I need an x pipe now but I have heard that with a catted x pipe the sound is really great. Off road it may get kind of loud for some people. All stainless steel, install is a breeze, and they look great I would have to give them a big thumbs up.

My only complaint is that is does attract attention. ALL kinds of attention from enthusiast, to the low-life ricers, to law enforcement. Anyway, I love the sound even with the stock h-pipe and everyone always comments on how good the car sounds. I was even at a cruise-in where about 2 dozen people will be gathered around my 2000 GT listening to the exhaust while the classic hot-rod guys got hardly any attention. :D

So, if you don't mind putting up with an exhaust that has a bit more roar than the standard flowmaster catback, buy the SLP. It's made of stainless steel, and looks better than any other catback I've seen for the Mustang. It's even a good ice-breaker with the ladies :nice:

i personally have the slp catback loudmouth with mac prochamber..all installed myself..i love it...everyone loves it...only people who dont like it are those who are jealous of how many girls love the car...if u see some chics standing near a ricer...give it full throttle when u go by..park up and see if they dont come to u...anyone who loves hott rods should love this..i've heard it sounds not to good j/ with the stock h pipe..but with my mac prochamber it roars..no raspy sound...my advice...replace from the headers back...put x pipes in def.

i like my SLP a lot. It can be subtle, as long as you keep it under 2750 =)

pretty quiet at idle, sounds like it has a cam ( i wish ) obviously with this exhaust or magnapacks you can just go cruisin around at WOT without expecting some attention.

I have the cat backs with the stock mid-pipe and love them. If you're like me and LOVE a loud car, then get them. If you want something more subtle I'd go with magnapacks.

My neighbor has the SLP catback on his 2004 GT and it is beyond obnoxious sounding. You can hear him from a mile away. He is young so he seems to enjoy the attention.

I have the magnaflow catback on my '99 GT and couldn't be happier. Sounds nice but not too high schoolish plus it produces more power than the SLP system.

so all you guys that are calling it a farm truck setup have had it? or let me guess a friend of a friend has it and you heard it....?

just curious.

yes the setup is loud. 1970 cheby truck sound i dont think so. if mine sounded like one after installing it, i would have taken it off on the spot and thrown it in the dumpster.

I have have the slp catback hooked up to hooker lt headers and the hooker x pipe and I think it sounds good. Up until a few weeks ago, I didn't have cats on the mid pipe and it was really loud and I though it sounded pretty good, but since I have put cats on, it is slightly not as loud as it was, but I think the quality of the sound is now better than it was without the cats.
