Hi all,

I've been following the forums for a few months and just registered last week. I'm in the market for an Black 05 GT Deluxe w/IUP, side air bags, and the upgraded wheels. Total sticker is $26,010. Through a program at work, I can get $1000 off sticker, making the price $25,010. This seems like a decent deal, but then I keep hearng about people getting these cars at 500 above invoice. When you say "above invoice," are you referring to Ford's 'invoice on teh website, or invoices found on other sites like edmunds or KBB? Also, are these prices abtained by negotiating or though plans?

For me to get the $1000 discount, I have to go to a dealer 1 1/2 hours away, which I don't mind doing. But if I can negotiate the smae deal, I'll stay close to home.

Thanks for the input and I look forward to being a member.

Im not sure if this is what is happening everywhere but it seems to be...that original 500 over invoice was mostly given to those that ordered it and now they are jacking up the prices, even dealers that started selling them at MSRP are now marking them up at least 3000 over, some places are still giving deals on one if you order it but you have to wait to get it, most of these deals are the plans (A,D,Z,X), so if you cant get a plan pin # then that sounds like it might be your best deal at this point in time, unless you wait until next year when they are all over the place. Again this might not be happening everywhere but sure does seem to be the case in So Cal. Good luck.

I have heard of two here in the DFW area of TX going for $500 above MSRP. Also, they are gone within hours of hitting the lot.

On a side note: I did see the first screw up from the factory on a 05. They put a V6 bumper on a GT. The bumper was sitting on the exhaust. The guy that bought it had the dealership cut the bumper and took it as is. The demand for these cars is un-real around here.

Thanks for the input from everyone. Looks like I'll be placing an order on Saturday afternoon. For the record, I currently drive a Chevy Blazer. So yes, I'm trading in the bowtie for a blue oval.

Dealerships in the Philly area are saying roughly 10-12 weeks for orders. Also, I was speaking to a salesman the other night and he said that "he heard" that orders with the side airbag option are being delayed even further. He said this is due to demand, not any sort of defect or malfunction.
