The carbon fiber hood is so much lighter than the stock fiber glass. Fit and finish was good and really easy to install.

I have really been debating if I should get a CF hood for my stang....looks good on your car man. Where did you buy it from...and did you happen to get a weight for it?

I got it from brothers performance but I can't seem to find it listed on their web site anymore http:\\www.brothersperformance.com. I got it late this year. I forgot the exact weight savings.

I will try to find the weight savings and post it here.

Ebay has a lot of good ones. I am going to get one and have it painted on top but leave the area like where the 35th anniversary hood stripe is carbon fiber. Then I will cover the bottom in the reflective mirror heat shield. I am not 100% sure on the top of the hood idea, maybe I will paint it all. I am curious about the weight savings as well. They make a CF trunk lid too. I have to get a new one b/c I am going w/o the spoiler and need one with no holes. That will be painted tho. Lightweight is the ****nik yo.

Why?

That will reflect the heat back into the engine which is not what you want.

I like your idea of leaving the stripe bare CF, should look nice like that.

I like your idea of leaving the stripe bare CF, should look nice like that.

Someone once told me that you don't want the CF hood to heat up that much or it will discolor and/or warp. Reflecting the engine heat away looks like the only possible solution.

carbon fiber is supposed to dissipate heat not hold it in. the panels on the side of the space shuttle are made of it for this very reason. if the quality of the carbon fiber is good it should act in the same manor otherwise it is essentially a cosmetic ricer mod.
