Well here it is again my 96 Cobra trans is makin fu*ked up noises again. This will be the 4th tranny i am about to drop in it in 7 monthes!!! What is up with this? These T45s just suck ass or what? well im tired of this crap and am lookin for a real tranny that can take me smacking the **** outta gears. Actually I am thinkin of goin auto, A C4 is what i had in mind but what would i need to do to get a C4 in my car. A new bellhousing and such i suppose. Can someone give me a little help here?

Yea i am aware of the no overdrive but that doesn;t matter the car isn't a daily driver to me to begin with. By time i would have the C4 in it It would also have a lot more goodies.......
How do the tkos hold up? Anyone wanna share their thoughts?
 
Ok i was just outside messin with my car and its weird. I can put the car into any gear fine, when i actually blew my trans before i couldn;t put it into any gear. Also if its in nuetral and my foot is on the clutch its fine when i take nmy foot off the clutch it starts making this loud clicking noise? Thats what its doin in every gear whenever my foot is not on the clutch... what is this??

Pull the trans and try to identify which gear you just blew. You running on slicks?

T45's are NOT meant to take a lot of abuse. The survival stories about people running them on sticky tires and powershifting at redline are the exception, not the norm.

You've broken the trans 7 times in 4 months and not thought about buying a stronger one?
 
no i blew the trans 4 times in 7 monthes and am just now thinking of buying another one. It is warrantied so i keep gettin free trannys but no more of this free **** they be givin, besides i pulled it apart and it was just the clutch disc that had pretty much exploded so i have some time now to save for a new tranny. I already ordered a aluminium Flywheel and king cobra clutch....
 
That ticking noise you hear is not the tranny, it is your trow out bearing. It will only make the noise with your foot off the clutch but not while it is pushed down. Mine does that too, not a big, big deal but should be fixed if you can

It could be the input shaft bearing that is what I am going thru with my 01 cobra I thought it was throw out but it was input shaft bearing same symtoms

my last post must have not gone thru I have my 01 cobra in the shop right now they said if is only the input shaft bearing it will be $500 if they have to replace gears and syncros its $1000 worst case scenario I have a tremec 3650 in the cobra but I had the same prob on a ranger 5 speed I think was a toyo kogo and it lasted for years and years
