Hi guys. I've posted here a few times before and for the most part, everyone has welcomed me and been real nice to me. I currently own a 30th Anni. Camaro Z28 but looks as if I'll be selling it in the next few days. I found a black 2000 GT, auto, convertible, 30,000 miles for $10,000. I made a topic over at the "Show and Shine" section about how I want a Mach One hood and chin spoiler. Well, I don't want any major performance modifications at all. Maybe a couple of things to make it a little peppier. I want to do some exhaust work cause the 4.6's sound amazing. Any other small things I could do that would help the car out? Like I said, nothing major. I have always been told that pullies were great on the 4.6. Pullies don't do jack squat on the LT1's, but I would be willing to give em a try on the 'Stang. Thanks everyone! :flag:

Welcome. That seems like a great deal with that low of miles!Although
it will be different coming from a F-body! I say get it because I like
black stangs of course! :nice: If you are only adding a few mods I say
install something like 4.10 gears,X pipe,catback,headers :nice:
Pulleys do very little for are cars also!I will also check out your
thread!

I don't think I'll ever do headers again. Although, it may be a lot easier on these cars. PITA on the LT1. I'm brand new to the 4.6 world. What is the factory exhaust setup? I want true duals with maybe Spintech mufflers. I think they sound great.

We'll to tell you the true your right it is easier to do headers on a 4.6L 2V
than it is to do on a 5.7L LT1! They are a PITA on the LT1 cars but, easier
to get to on the LS1 cars. The factory exhaust set up is restrictive!
Cast iron shorty headers,H pipe with 4 cats, and a stainless steel catback
with 21/4 tips! The mufflers are restrictive on the stangs so,yes I say get
some new mufflers! The Spintech's sound great though but,you can hear
exhaust notes at www.mustangexhaust.com

That is a bargin of a price for that car with so little miles. I have a 99 GT convt also in black and I paid almost $9,000 for it last spring with 63,000 miles on it. That is a good price. Make sure the top is in good condition I found a couple of small leaks in mine after I bought it. You are going to wants some gears with the auto. I also have an Auto and I will be getting 3.73 when I get money to install them.

why sell the LT1?

Well, it has some miles on it and I'm getting ready to transfer to another college next year. It's about 2 1/2 hours away from home and I'll be traveling a little bit and I want something with less miles on the clock. Also, my Z28 is crazy loud and it gives me a headache when I drive about 30 minutes straight. The interior resonance is just insane. And I don't feel like re-doing the exhaust again. I'm just ready to move on I guess.

So the factory Mustang exhaust consists of true duals already? Cool. I really don't think I will change the headers on it. I don't even think I'll get rid of the cats on it. Probably just add the Spintech mufflers so I can enjoy a little sound.

Also, about gears. It's been pretty much tested and true that 3.73's work best on an AUTO LT1/LS1 and 4.10's on an M6. Does the same hold true for the 4.6 Mustang? How does gears effect drivability/gas mileage on these cars?

I really want the Mach 1 hood and shaker air box, but in case I can't go that route, are there any good cold air induction kits? Thank you so much for all your help.
