hey gang,

there are brown/tan spots around the wheel wells, as well as on the body behind the wheels, on my white GT--i am betting that they are some sort of glue residue from whatever Ford coats them with coming out of the factory. I also noticed that there was a good amount of adhesive left on my bumper, that I am still taking off three weeks later. I am guessing bad dealer prep here.

anyone else have these spots, and any idea how to remove them? I was thinking claybar.

Shouldn't the dealer have done that for you? They should do a complete prep and clean the car before delviering it to you. Or at least set up a date for you to bring it in to have it cleaned/detailed.

I'd take it back to the dealer and have them clean it.

Those spots are rail dust. They are very difficult to remove. They are seen mostly on white cars, as there are still a few on my white Stang. How they get there? When the cars are riding the rails & the trains slow down the breaks kick up hot rail dust that sits on the cars & burns into the clearcoat. You don't really see it on darker cars but it's there.
