Whats up eveyone. I was thinking about getting an O/R X pipe but I have dynomax race bullet mufflers. Has anyone ever heard X pipe with strait flows because my buddy Jaidedeye on hear had a 90 LX with O/R H pipe and the same mufflers I have and it sounded like crap. If anyone has a suggestion or sound clip I would surely appreciate it.

i heard that straight through mufflers with o/r x or some catted Xs sound like shlt. if you like raspy sound, were the exhaust gases bounce off each other, then go with an X.

generally the 5.0s are gonna sound completey different from the 4.6s from what ive heard on my cars.

im currently installing magnapacks(straight threw) on my 2002 GT with an O/R H. ill let you know how that sounds...i have clips from other cars if you wanna hear them.

also 5.0s with straight through muffler usaully sound bad, regardless. thats why most guys go with flows on the older stangs.

From the clips ive heard of 0/R H and straight through it sounds way deeper.
give me your email or if you have an instant messanger and ill send you some clips over.

hopefully mine will be all bolted up and ready to go tonight.
and ill let you know how it sounds.

power wise , h -pipe has more power down low and an X-pipe has more power higher up in the rpms. i went with the h-pipe cuz the 4.6 just dont have alot of power down low..well untill i get my gears.

At idol an o/r h-pipe sounds good but when you get on it sounds like ****, I have a Mac o/r h-pipe with Flowmasters and I went back to stock. It just sounded like a 72 Buick with holes in the mufflers. Now on the 5.0's they have this really deep tone that sounds great but 4.6's is a another story.

hey brad (modmonster).....

your car sounds good now......but if i was you id get a prochamber if you want to keep the race bullets.....

why am i posting this??? you live like down the street from me>>>>>>

oh yeah......buy some tires first.....dork

it all has to do with what you like. I have an x-pipe with borlas and I like it. some poeple will talk about a raspy sound. well that is kind of what an x-pipe brings to the table. running a deep muffler with a x-pipe sounds fine to me.

To me I went strait through muffler with an xpipe because Ithough it would give me a power advantage. people spend lot so money to make power on modular cars.

spend $150 for 2hp out of cold air and then pick a exhaust setup that does not give the best results.

no complaints here. My vrs x pipe made a noticable power gain over the stock midepipe. could really feal it. I picked borla cause I saw a dyno test that it gave the most torque of the catbacks availible at the time.

I have a Bassani Off road X and Hooker aeroflow mufflers. I love it for the most part. If I baby it around under 2000rpms the volume is barely noticable by other cars (handy when cops are about) but when I get it up in the higher RPMs it roars quite nicely. It does pop alot on deceleration though so if you don't like that then stay away from this type of combo.

The worst thing about the Hookers is the drone. Around 2200rpms it's almost unbearable.
