Terminator owners:What are you running A/F at?

A question for guys running the 4.6 4V motors with a blower, not just terminators, but any 400-600hp blower 4.6 modular setups. I just got done tuning and changing my base mailorder tune A/F at WOT and now I go down to 11.5 A/F right before my MAF pegs (approx 480-490 HP). I was thinking that I want to be at the rich side of the range SCT indicated for my car, when the MAF can't meter any extra air, and it moves back towards lean. I also transition to richer, sooner and that seems to help midrange spool up. So I wanted to know what everybody else's thinking is on their A/F, what they try to run and why?

Well my setup is not really a good comparison. Since I'm still running stock boost I can safely run a little leaner than you pullied guys. I'm at 12.0 across the board on my car. If I were running a 2.93 or smaller pulley I would want to see 11.5~11.7 across the RPM range. You also have to look at how much timing you're running. I'm at a max of 22 degrees.

I left the final timing adjustments for later runs, I still have it a little retarded at 21 (less than stock) at top load/rpm but I have it more aggresive than that through the midranges. No pinging anywhere, but I still have the a rev limiter hit lower than max, while dialing it in, but is detonation a problem if your too rich or too lean at a certain timing. My car doesn't see the 14lbs boost that some guys get with a 2.80 because I added the tuned long tubes and 3" pipes which reduce the backpressure, so I am still on my gauges scale ( a little over), running 11 to 12lbs, but since my MAF is at 97%, I think I'm making about 97% of 500hp (485) so I am tickled blue. Letting it transition to rich earlier and have it there for 3000 to 6000 rpm range seems to give it more midrange torque, but that could be wishful thinking, I'll prove that one way or another at the track. All this power made it very difficult to drive off the line with F1's, but I'm not complaining.

Pinging is usually a result of too much timing and/or too lean a fuel mix.

That's what I thought, so I should be able to dial up a little extra timing by the time I'm done, I did notice that I could make the car ping a little with the mailorder tune, when lugging it in 6th, but after my changes no pings anywhere and It swear it switches to boost sooner, not so it's problem driving regular but it is like it knows when I'm going to stomp it before I do??? I love this stuff, I'll never grow up and I don't give a frog!

Im runnning a 2.76 pulley and my A/F ratio is 11.7-11.8 across the board it dips to 11.5 just about 6000 to 6200.

Tom

That's right where I want to be too. Gotta keep checking now to make sure I stay there.

Quick question for you pulley'd guys...(not to hyjack the thread or anything)...
How many miles did you have on your car before you pulley'd?

Thanks

500mi, but you can't go by me....

I ain't right
