Bassani X-Pipe installed with JBA Axle back

I've had a JBA Axle back on for about 3 months and put a Bassani BX X-Pipe with the comp cats on today and it definatly increased the sound level. The car used to sound good at idle but under exceleration it got quite, now the sound increases and the car sounds more tuned. It came with the pipes to eliminate the cats, dont know about the 05 and MIL eliminators so i'll leave them off for now. Drove the car for about 20 miles no SES light and a big smile.

The car revs a little faster under exceleration too.

one draw back is the systems are to long by about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. If you put it on yourself you will need to cut the pipes or your muffler tips will stick out the back wat to far. I had a muffler shop install mine and had them cut.

Still doesn't sound like the old Cobra with an off road X, but pretty damn close.

I got the kit from Lightning Performance on Ebay for 399.00 and it arived in 2 days. Ordered the 3 piece but got the 7 piece for the same price screw up on thier part.....maybe, all I know is the exhaust is done and I couldnt be happier with the sound.  :nice:

Update on Bassani X with JBA's

Drove the car for 200 miles today on the interstate, Wow, cats must have burned out some. The sound is Awsome now,  wouldn't even think of putting the race pipes on now. :nice:

One other tech note, the passenger side cat needs to be rotated to the inside of the car so the O2 senser doesn't hit the floor board.

Im Actually thinking about getting the same set up as you. Did the Bassani x-pipe set up nicely with the stock exhaust manifolds? Also, since i know the Jba axle back doesnt come close to meeting up with the x-pipe, what did you do to make the systems fit together? What did you do about the oxygen sensors as well?

Thanks

JBA went on with no problem with the stock H Pipe, the mufler shop had to cut 1 1/2 inches from the x pipe. This is so the muffler tips didnt stick out another 1 1/2 inches, wouldnt look right. Bolts right to the stock manifold with no problem and the O2 sensors right into the cats, didnt put the off road pipes on it. The X pipe doesnt replace the over the axle pipes so the fit is nice.

I you want it to sound tuned and throaty, this is the way to go.......wish I could put a sound clip up, you will not be disapointed, unless you you want the load as hell big block open header sound. IMO these cars look way to sophisticted for that.

4yanks- are you from Fort Bragg?

I'm still learning myself...but I just got off the phone with Sheldon at Bassani and the first question he asked me was do you want it to be legal? They have street-legal X-pipes etc...but he said most guys with the 05 GT are getting the illegal stuff. I wonder if Virginia has yearly emmisions inspections?

Yes I am from Fayetteville. I'm wondering if the high flow cat x-pipe will pass emissions. I think they also have a C.A.R.B. x-pipe that uses the original cats. But from what I've read the stock cats are the major restriction.

Does anyone know how this x-pipe affects emissions? I live in NC and am required to have emissions inspected each year.

Really ? When i was in Jacksonville I took my two vehicles in and they just looked at the headlights and taillights and under the hood. paid my $10 i think and walked away with a sticker.
