Decided to toss the turbo in favor of a 20 gell cell batteries. Not sure how to wire up the Safety Switch though.

I think that's great! I'd love to have an electric, as I only live 2 miles from work. It seems such a waste to drive that short distance.

Yes I know I should get off my lazy butt and walk, but I don't want to have to leave home 30-45 minutes earlier. Not to mention how often it rains.

Mmmm.... 600A motor... at 12V, that's what, just under 10 horsepower? :D And that's not rwhp....

close....but you didnt read far enough...its 144v :D
still not much of a powerhouse, but instant torque that would leave some people scratching their head light to light. I think he said top speed was 70mph.

Ahh, that makes more sense. 115 horsepower. I wonder how many people it surprises... 3900 lbs is a lot of weight (and I should know :)).

:rlaugh: Cant be THAT heavy Dave (is it? lmao :D )
yes, but from what little I have read and years of experience with electric motors...they make peak torque all through the rpm band. So 115hp potential right on tip in, i bet she goes ok even at that weight:) I wouldnt go racing more than light to light though :D

I did some Google research, and that motor is typically rated at about 20 horsepower, but it also says "85 peak". I found a page for a guy who has a Datson 1200, which must be quite a lot lighter, and with a similar motor (but at 156V 1200A) he can do 0-60 in about 8 seconds and exceed 120 mph.

Sooooooo.... if this 3900 lb Mustang has a top speed of 70 mph, I'm guessing he can't quite hit 60 mph in 8 seconds, which suggests he should stay away from stoplight racing. :D Sounds like a fun project, though. I could get to work, but not back home, on 30 miles of range...
