Where are the good 2V 4.6 manifolds?

I've been looking for a replacement manifold for my 4.6 2V. Holy crap, the prices are outrageous! You got the P51 for something like $1300, a Bullitt conversion for anywhere from $900 to $1200 (the intake + all of the adapter stuff you have to buy + porting) and not much else that I have found. You can get a 5.0 performance manifold for the price of an ugly three toed hooker. Doesn't ANYONE make a good performance manifold for the 99' + 2V 4.6? There are TONS of these cars out there; surely SOMEONE has to have made something. If it's out there, I haven't found it. Please someone enlighten me...I would LOVE to be proven wrong here. $1000 for a manifold makes as much sense as a buying a V6 Mustang.

p-51 or bullitt. i think there's one more but its in the same price range. only other option is a different plenum. same way with cylinder heads for the 4.6, theres really no aftermarket for them, just worked stock heads from MPH, Fox Lake and other performance shops.

the 4.6 aftermarket is a lot different than the 5.0. for $1500-$2000, you could get a good set of aluminum heads, and upper and lower intake manifold, an have cash left over for a cam.

a stock one supports over 700hp at the wheels...how much more do you need?
I've seen articles where they have cut the plastic manifold and glued it back together and gotten 8whp. Maybe that was all on the high end of the RPM, but it says there is room for improvement. I think your 700hp number is for FORCED INDUCTION and it makes no difference how long your runners are for that. Ever seen a 700hp N/A 4.6? I don't think so. The DOHC engines have a variable butterfly intake that is available ($3400 or convert an Aviator manifold)..ie short runners for high RPM's and long runners for low. My question is why are there not any 4.6 2V "performance" manifolds. Uhhh, what was your question again.....?

The factory composite intake is very efficent. If you have a basically stock motor with bolt ons, you much better off installing a new upper plenum. Even a Bullitt intake swap isnt really worth it until your running forced induction.

I htae wen peple atak othr peples speling.

Anyways, no there are no affordable ones. Although there is an improvement the price paid isnt really woth the gain, especially on a N/A engine....man, if you make 600RWHP on the stock plastic intake (been done), why spend $1300 for 640RWHP? 600, 640, when you up there you should be happy lol. So what im saying is what an above poster said...the plastic intake will handle well over 600....if your goal is above that then get another one...if not then just up the boost until you hit 600.

this is an internet forum man, not college grammar class. lighten up. the guy was just trying to help you out.
Help me out? Look at my signature. I have an upper intake plenum. I am taking about MANIFOLDS here, not plenums. And thanks for pointing out my toes. Touché

well, everyone's pretty much laid it out for you. there arent any other than the ones you've already listed. and unless you plan on making 600+ hp, there's no need for an upgrade. with the money you would spend upgrading intakes, you could spend that same amount of money on other mods such as gears, cams or longtubes.

im not trying to be a dick, but if you ask anybody with a 4.6 n/a engine if they would rather have the bullitt/p-51 intake, or gears, cams, and/or LT's, im willing to bed the majority would say the latter.

now, i know you arent considering one of these manifolds because of the cost. i know you are looking for more inexpensive alternatives. but, just in case anyone reading this may be thinking about dropping that much on a manifold, lets compare. now, im not trying to badmouth the p-51 or bullitt, god knows i'd get one if they were more inexpensive, and i probably will when i decide to s/c....wait, i want a KB :D . but they are good products made by good companies with good reputations. but if you're staying N/A, i would take a different route, and save a new manifold for last if anything.

this isnt exact, but for ****s n giggles:
P-51 intake: $1300

FRPP 4.10s: $200
VT cams : $600
BBK LT's : $500

now of course you have to factor in installation and tuning costs for both, and also upraded springs for the cams. but im willing to bet with the latter 3 parts you would notice more of a difference. anyway, there arent any aftermarket intake manifolds for the same price as the old 5.0's, and there probably never will be.

hey, you learn something new everyday.

there you go man, $600 and its yours. not far off from a GT-40 or Cobra intake for the 5.0's.

i saw the update on 9-15-05, so im guessing this is still in the development stage. have you heard any estimated dyno #'s for the manifold?

600 is more then double what i paid for my cobra intake (upper and lower, gotta love old technology)

i havent followed 5.0 tech since high school. back then during the pre-stangistic days, i had my entire engine built in my head. 347, afr heads, gt-40 intake, blah blah blah,.....back then i think it was around $450 or so. hence the "not far off". i know the gt-40's are still going for $600. one of these days i'll get my 95 kewbra....

and thanks for the link.

Are you new to the mod motored Mustang? This has been an issue we've been asking to be solved since at least the late 90's. And now that the 3V motor is out, I wouldn't expect anyone to spend any time trying to develop something new.
The problem is (for developers), it's not a bad design and there is just not that much room for improvement for the daily driver with a few bolt ons. As you see with that hiperformancesolutions manifold, it's just a copy of the OEM one in aluminum. They don't appear to be a large, reputable company - their website is laughable.
