Hey guys-
My 91 5.0 comes from FL and I want to keep it rust-free (one can hope) now that it's in IL. I have heard positive things about POR 15. I was just wondering if anyone has expierence with this product or has any other advice--I want to undercoat my car and hit up the seams in the wheel wells and doors. Thanks

POR-15 is supposed to be Painted Over Rust, hence the POR name. It can be painted over bare metal as well. Bare metal needs to be prepped with POR's Metal Ready etcher before coating with POR-15. If you're doing a rotisserie rebuild, sandblasting the whole under side, it would be a great thing to use. Just painting POR-15 over your existing undercoating and underside paint won't buy you much protection. If you just top coat withPOR-15, it is only as good as the layers of paint under it because it doesn't bond directly to the metal.

I painted my engine bay and underbody with POR 15 rust preventative paint. Don't get that sh it on your skin or it'll take weeks to get off (don't ask) I'm very happy with how it came out. I wasn't going for a show quality job, just looking to protect my car. I would clean the area first with something like simple green and wash the area with a spounge, then once its clean and dry, paint it. Heres my bay after cleaning/painting:
