I have the Saleen with a 3.6 pulley (8psi) on it and its still very quiet.
Which is Exactly what I want! I would rather not advertise my SC, they get a bit more surprised that way.

The best advice is to buy a good quality SC that serves the purpose you intend it to, not based on whine....which means nothing in 1/4 mile runs or street racing, or rwhp.

JM, I was looking at the Saleen charger, do you believe it was money well spent? I have no problem dropping 5g's for a charger but I want to make sure it's safe for my engine :) I don't want to blow my engine after a year of owning my car :)

Also, do you have any pictures of your baby?? I would love to see that car with all it's mods!

I have the Saleen s/c on mine as well and I love it. I don't know if it runs different on a standard GT than on mine. I assume it all depends on the calibration. I bought a Saleen S281 SC, so it was stock and I'm running the stock pulley at 5 psi. There is definitely a whine, but not as loud as I've heard on other aftermarket s/c's.

5+ grand for a SC that doesnt produce that much boost? You can make any sc safer with getting a bigger pully if thats what you are looking for. I just find it funny people pay 5K for the saleen with 4-6 psi (for a safe system) then add another 2K to get it at the level that vortech and procharger is at. .. but I guess it still must be a safe SC,.... still... IMO.. flame away

I also want a s/c that has a loud whine so people know I have a performance car. I find it funny that vortech and paxton advertize nearly silent performance;:Damnit: I want it LOUD!!

Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe the loudness resides in pulley size. The faster the s/c spins the louder it will be and you also get more boost. Is the 8psi that vortech offers loud or what I really want to know is if you can hear it with the hood closed.

Sounds sweet, for a second I thought you might get sucked in!! Too bad you didn't rev the engine a little so I could hear the full range of sound. Did you install the system or take it to a professional? How much hp gain? Can the stock clutch take the added power or for that matter can the stock drivetrain take the added hp?

I had a couple of friends help me out witht he install. It was smooth till we got the the coolent hoses and the factory ford steel clamp broke off(nice). I'll post the dyno run underneeth (393hp/365 on mustang dyno= 430-440 rwhp). There is still more power but I got the kit before they threw in the BAP. I need to order it and maybe a smaller pully :D
