Question for you new S197 Owners

I've had my '06 GT for about a month now and have no complaints whatsoever. Great car, fun to drive, handles well, it's fast, the interior is actually pretty decent for a Ford and the gas mileage isn't going to completely destroy your budget (I average about 22 MPG's with about 60/40 highway/city driving).

For the price, I don't think it can be beat. You'll be saving at least 5 grand, if not closer to 6 or 7 getting the Mustang GT over the STI or 3 series.

I didn't buy the mustang to stand out in a crowd, or for it's looks (even though I think it looks great). I bought it because it was the most fun to drive and has the best bang for the buck of any comparable car out there IMO.

I agree with you on the looks of the STI. I simply could not see myself driving something with a park bench attatched to the trunk lid. Supposedly it's a functional spoiler, but it still looks retarded. I made sure I got the spolier delete option on my Mustang.

i had a 98 benz e320, and that car was such a pain. always electronic crap breaking, and some of the things the dealer couldnt even figure out. and i bought it with low miles from benz! you dont even want to know how much money i spent trying to keep the check engine light from coming on. and a tune up. haha i wont even tell u how much. it was a nice car to drive though, and was comfortable. the mustang is way better though! i actually look forward to drivign it. and i like that it is a much simpler car. if you have snow tires on it, and know how to drive stick, you will be fine in the winter, slap a couple bags of sand in the trunnk. i will prob be driving mine in the snow a few times this year, i gave my mom my yukon, so i cant use it all the time anymore.
now if you want to buy a german car that will keep its value, and have NO problems, then buy a 1978 big body benz 6.9 my dad has one, and is extremely fast and reliable, and will smoke a LOT of newere cars.. you prob want something newer tho.

I've got a '96 Civic EX 5 speed that I'm daily driving right now. The Mustang would probably go better in the snow though cause the Civic doesnt have ABS. It's not fun to drive in the rain let alone snow and ice.

I had a 2002 Silverado Z71 but I sold it to my mom a few months ago when I sold my '01 Firehawk. I kept the civic cause I needed something to DD while I was looking for a new car. I think if it does actually snow much this year I'll borrow the truck from my mom and drive it. I live in Lexington now though and I only have to drive on the main road in town which is always the first to be cleared off so I don't really think it'll be a problem unless it snows on my way home.

I have hed mine for about 2 1/2 weeks now and love it. My only complaint is the cup holders. I almost always carry a water bottle with me and with the placement of the holders it makes shifting a little annoying cause they are kinda in the way. Any large cup/bottle in it and shifting is more difficult unless you are doublr jointed in your elbow and wrist. But I wouldn't trade her for anything. I LOVE IT!
