I just changed my plugs, nothing new there, but this time, when I started it afterwards it rev'd to 3k and hung there. There was also a loud, what seemed to be a vaccum leak sound. Never had that happen before. I killed it, and started it back up, back to 3k. After a minute it drops to 2k, but if I hit the gas, it revs up and stays at that rpm for a minute then right back to 3k. I did unplug the TPS while I was doing it, but the battery was disconnected. I have reset the comp twice. What else do I need to try? Is the TPS dorked up?

EDIT: No warning lights or codes.....

It also just occurred to me that perhaps the IAC was not properly hooked back up, if you happened to fool with it. I know that I had a similar problem when I installed the FIPK on my Stang and failed to rehook the IAC line to the intake tube.

just a thought? Sounds like a problem an Idle Air Control valve could play a part in.

I checked all the hoses and pretty much took everything back apart to retrace my steps. I thought it might be the IAC as well, but I took it off and looked at it and it appears fine. I also tried to take the hose off of the CAI and block it, but that didnt change anything. I thought that if you blocked it, it would kill the engine, but o no, it didnt do anything. Might be the MAF, but will have to look at again in the morning. Dark as hell here, rainy and cold.

BTW a mod might want to del this one, since this was the one moved from the "talk" section when I accidentally posted it there....There is already another post of this in here.
