TT dyno results

We just got done finishing up on my 04 Cobra with Twin 67mm Turbos. We are trying a couple of new things. We are running an Procharger Sheetmetal Intake. Strapped the car up to the old dyno and on first full pull the car ended up putting down 770 RWHP and 635 RWTQ. We had to let out of it a little soon...due to pegging the meter. This was also with 14 Degrees of timing and 22lbs of BOOST. Didnt even play around with the boost controller. The turbo's were coming in a little late...so we should have played with the controler a little bit. But decided that we would wait tell we get the new electornics/Meter in and also will probably put on an fast system, and then start tunning the car fully. Man some times I hate Meters. I was ready to see 850

We will keep yall updated. Hopefully with the new meter and Fast system we will see close to 900. We shall see. Get these big ol turbos to come in a little sooner and then Hold on. Here's the graph:

I guess congrats on the power. :nice: Although I'll say this. Maybe some of you wont agree with me and I never come to this section so I have no clue if this has been debated or not before, but here I go. The 03-04 Cobra are badass cars from the start (nobody can really argue here). And they can easily make 650-700rwhp with the good boltons and switch of the blower and run 10's, so why turbocharge it ? I understand you'll be making more power but to change the power adder kind is not something I'd do to that specific car. I know you're not the only one that did this but but I'm just curious why the 650-700rwhp and more werent enough for you. I'm not ranting on you at all man, I envy you from the start for owning an 03-04 Cobra and respect what you did as a car enthousiast and this car kicks ass I'm sure but maybe you understand what I mean. These 03-04 Cobra's are my favorite stangs out there so far (New Shelby's not out yet:D) and I personnaly believe they should remain supercharged (and juiced if necessary..)

:nice:

I completely understand what you are saying and there really isnt one great answer. The turbo's are less parasitic and you can make more power at lower boost levels. That is the main reason why so many are swapping to turbo's b/c they realize that they will have to use the blower+N20 to make the same amount of power. I talked a little more with some tuners and if we had put 5-6* of timing, it more than likely would have been in the 875-890rhwp range at that boost level. Most KB's and Whipple's at 22lbs are making what, 650rwhp? that's nearly 200rwhp more than a blower. It's mainly the insane who want to make stupid power who are swapping to turbo's :D . I will get some good pics up once I have a nice day to shoot some, it's been crappy every time ive had a chance to snap a few :nice:

Dude, you do not have to defend the build up that you are doing. I understand the previous comment was not bashing you or anything
but I just think that you need to know that if money is not an issue,
and like most of us end up doing mods out the wazoo on these things,
that turbo is a no brainer. The idea that at the same boost levels you are making almost 200 more hp is all the answers anybody needs.:D Personally
I like the idea that you can run minimal boost and still make more power than a ported Eaton, or a Whipple/KB at 20 psi. We have a member of our MACA that just swapped over to Hellion 76mm and is making 661/717 @18 psi.
That is his street tune. If I had the money a turbo would be in my future. Good luck with that beast.:nice:
