On 69/70 Mustangs with A/C there is a white plastic (actually nylon) lever on the defroster plenum that actuates the defroster vent door. These darn things are almost all broken, so the defroster doesn't work right, and nobody makes a reproduction. I'm thinking of having a few made up in a CNC machine shop. I'd keep one for my car and sell off the rest on Stangnet or eBay to recoup my costs. However, I'm not sure how much people would be willing to spend or how many I could unload. Do you think I could get in the range of $40 each for these things, or would I end up eating most of the cost? Also I was thinking of modifying the design to be stronger than the original, since obviously the original design was under-engineered, but some people might prefer it to be an exact copy. What do you think?

Fortunately, when I rebuilt my A/C inside unit mine were still OK. I am always interested in people reproducing parts that are not available. I feel that a good substitute would sell as long as you keep the cost down. The type of material should be considered from a cost standpoint because not many people are going to be concerned enough to look under your dash to see if everything is correct, mainly that it works and looks like it belongs.

Just my 2 cents.
