Bad news for me and my 73

  • Sponsors (?)

I am so sorry for your loss, but atleast you are okay. **** happens, and hopefully you won't be at fault. I think that you can still fix her up if you choose to. I would but I get very attatched to my cars, some people can let them go and get new cars. Choice is yours, I would bring her back to life.

id fix it but im just gonna strip whats good and sell the rest as scrap metal, find another 73 and use what i have and just call it mine, i think the drivetrain is still good.

I love that car soo much but i know that i could never get her back to original i would never have the time nor the money, right now i have $514 bucks and im thinking about just throwing all of that in my savings and try to find a striped 68-73 and just use what i got (that will fit i know the 69&70 are diff) and sell what i cant use.

I know the impact wasn't the same as mine, but be very concerned with your back.

I had a '67 Mustang 'vert that was T-boned by a S-10 Blazer doing 45 in 1987 in Rio Rancho, NM. I was 19 at the time, the passenger seat came loose since the pasenger door was moved in by about a foot. The passenger seat hit my on the right hip and I ended up sitting with my right cheek on the passenger seat and my left cheek hanging in the air.

They did Xrays and CAT scans and showed no broken bones, just a huge hematoma (sp?) that ran from my ribs to just above my knee and across my lower back, had 3 units of blood in it and was every color you can think of except clear or plaid. Back never bothered me, but it was out of alignment and two years later I was hit in the shoulder by a piece of equipment about 11am, I could have punched harder than it hit me, but I felt and heard a loud pop in my lower back, didn't think much of it until about 3am when I woke up screaming in bed.

Went to the hospital, where they did nothing and ended up at my family doctor where they injected a radioactive iodine into my spine and found that the cord was about half the thickness it was supposed to be between the L4 & L5 vertebre.

I had surgery and since I was 21, it went rather well due to my age and ease of healing, but I was about 185 when I had the surgery and I'm now about 285. I know as you get older you tend to put on the pounds, but I put on about 45 right after that over the next 6-8 months whan I couldn't work or go to school. I was able to float within 10 pounds one way or the other for a while then the weight slowly crept up.

I'm pretty sure if the accident had never happened, I'd be about 240ish right now, maybe a little lighter as I was pretty active before and had to stop all of a sudden. It's been 19 years since hte accident and my back gets sore all the time and its hard to do any activity where you use your back. I can do them, but I pay for it later.

If it weren't for the accident I think Larry would probably be a supermodel working for Calvin Klein.......:D

Alaurus - Glad your OK, your car is ****ed.....

i could repair it, cut the front off and get another back:p

That would be a lot of work and money. It'd be cheaper to just find another body. I saw one in a junkyard the other day so I know they are still out there.

So glad you made it out okay. What an impact that must have been.

You've never met Larry face-to-face, have you?:p

Alarus: I'm glad you survived the accident, and I hope and pray you are on the mend. Maybe you should change your user name to "Lucky Dog."

But you probably don't feel so lucky, do you?

Wayne.

RFLMAO!!! Calvin Klein Supermodel, your too funny Todd.

Yes Wayne, we've met, we even fought on StangNet but we kissed and made up in person, LOL!! Not. I don't have the moves of the pole dancer over here in the lower righthand corner of the page.

WFC9? Heck yeah I plan on being there.

I'm sorry for your loss and glad to hear you're okay.

A little OT, but if the guy crossed the median to hit you, everything should be paid for out of his insurance. That includes all the medical. I also agree with what Larry says. Make sure you follow up completely with everything. There can be unseen damage to your body and you want to do all the physical therapy exercises that are recommended to you. Take care of yourself!

Yeah, thats why im ok with it, my fiancé and me are fine, ill get the car replaced, all i was woried about washer when it happened, i wept a little when i started to think about the car but im fine with it:)
