I have a N/A 2.3L and i'm milling the head and installing a flat tappet cam with .412 lift ... any tips on running in the camshaft?

Of course i'll have new followers and im also installing new lifters, so for the lifters is there anything i should do to them before installing them and running the engine?

Thank you :nice:

Just stick with typical break-in recommendations, don't fret about valvetrain noise. It'll take a while to get the new lifters full of oil. The typical 20 minutes @ 2k will suit. On an EFI motor I grab my feeler gauges and find a combination that will yield approx. 2000 RPM when I stick them between the stop and the idle adjustment screw. Make sure the lobes are well coated with the assembly lube on installation.

I don't know everything, but if you need help, D-Land :) is not too terribly far. PM me for my phone number so we can talk if you run into trouble.

Lube it up reall good (break in oil is the best) be gentle on the motor for the first 100miles.

Mine is fine to this day.

have fun.
