What brand Mustang II?

one of my frame rails has been previously patched due to an accident and it was for this reason that I was considering the Martz chassis road race kit. Should I just get a frame rail replacement piece and go for the R&C kit since it is much cheaper?

I started disliking Hiedts when they told me there was no way a MII kit could be made for a Classic mustang, then made one a few years later.
Things change. We thought the earth was flat at one time too. Look at it this way -- they didn't stop themselves from developing a kit when they had initially thought it couldn't be done.

Or when they saw others making money off it... Why did they say it couldnt; be done when it could and was quite easy, who knows.

notch?

As I understand it you have to notch the frame with the Heidt's kit (to fit the springs) but not with the R&C kit? Why is that? Also does anyone know where to download the installation instructions, for either kit? I’m replacing metal in he engine bay and was thinking I might as well cut out the towers, but I’d like the exact details as to where to cut.

Heidt's and R&C simply place their springs differently, which is why Heidt's notches the frame. There's really no functional difference between the two in that respect. I don't know of anywhere you can download the instructions to either, but you basically just remove the whole tower and motor mount area until all you have left is the frame rail and the flat part of the aprons. You can find pics in the project pages on my site.
