Subframe Connectors - Big Difference

  • Sponsors (?)

I have MM full-length SFCs and a Steeda 3-point STB. Both made a big difference in stiffening up my vert. I bought the car with 30k miles on it and things were a little loose until I added those two items (and my UCAs).

funny, but you obviously havent riddin in one with and without. I know you are the guru for suspension and I respect that but I have first hand experience on this and it is contrary to what you are saying. body roll sux without it in a vert end of story.
I have, used it, took it off, sits on the backporch as a big ob-long paperweight. don't assume :)

but in a vert? with a k-member?
every car has a K member.. If you're talking about a aftermarket K there there will be a noticeable difference (depending on which one) in being better or worse with just the change of K Member

here you can read it yourself from the of the MM Techs, Jack Hidley

In our experience, a properly designed STB makes a noticable difference in steering response. The turn in is snappier. I don't think that there is any chance that the car is loosing or gaining front camber during cornering that you can tell. A 0.25 degree difference in transient camber is going to be very difficult to feel. But a transient change in toe will be much easier to feel.

So far we have seen zero Mustangs with problems due to coilovers in the front.

Mind you this post is about coil-overs and the effctiveness of a STB, coil-over being much harder on the towers

As far as handling, everything points to no. feeling less flexing of the cowl, steering feel are improved for a fact. trust me, i've been though all this before and found out more through more researching

Any other convertible owners want to chime in and let me know what you have?

I had Kenny Brown SFC's installed in my vert; they stiffened the car so much the stock springs felt sloppy. I then installed higher-rate Mach 1 springs and it now handles great. If you are modding a vert, SFC's are a must but you may need different springs. :nice:
