OK so I want 400rwhp and would like to have something like 415-430rwtq but I want it N/A style. I also want a million dollars but I think getting a 4.6 to make some tire melting power would be much easier and as long as I'm not behind the wheel more legal. Everything I read is about guys running SC and Turbo's which is fine but it has been my experience with cars that a N/A car usually tends to live a little longer and be more consistent. Correct me if I am wrong but that is what I know.

So I said all that to ask, is there anyone else building N/A cars out there and does anyone know if this is even possible yet with our 3V? Thanks guys and I look forward to hearing everyone tell me to just buy a power adder!:D Also would a methanol injection kit make any more power and can they be run on a daily driver or is that like Nitrous?:shrug:

i have a completly worked 05 cams pistons rods heads everything, i plan to put nitrous on it but its still a n/a comb it runs great i turn it about 7200 and it loves it

on just a quick tune, heat soaked and 120 deg. (in miami) it put down 360 hp , 355 tq
 
bore and stroke it, port the heads and get a crazy cam, forged internals and maybe up the compresion and see what you get. Although i bet you'd spend a lot more getting 400hp NA then with a supercharger or turbo.

I'm starting to think the same way :nonono: , that Saleen unit is looking better everyday.:bang:
 
there is no price comparison between N/A and boost engines. boost will create more hp/$ than a N/A engine. you will need every bolt on available to get near 400 rwhp. add a basic supercharger, and you are there.

Correct me if I am wrong but our cars with the right tune an a eye on the fuel pressure will run right up to 7k RPM stock right?:shrug: Now with that being said to really run through 7000 RPM all you need is to up grade the valve train:nice: to take the stress right? I'm an old schooler with my last engine build being 4+ years ago and it was a 1971 351 Cleveland:rolleyes: . Just a little different than our 4.6 beasts of today. Thanks for all the help you guys have given me in catching up with the mod motors :hail2:
 
mhanksii your right with a good tune and such 7k is very possible. I would still suggest a valve train upgrade (retainers and springs) to keep everything safe and prevent problems. I like supercharges and the hp to $ ratio is unbeatable with our motors. But I think a nicely bult N/A motor could be really cool. I guess I just miss my driving my dads zo6. Shifting at 6900 with about 380hp to the wheels with just a couple mods.
 
why shift at or even near 7000 rpm if you arent making any more power past 6000? you are just slowing down...

I've been able to shift at 6998 without any signs of float but it isnt worth anything if you dont have the head and cam work to process more power past 6500.

Indeed you would need head and cam work to make more power beyond 6500. But wouldnt shifting as high as possible be an advantage since you stay in a lower gear longer, alowing the reduced power to be multiplyed more, then more power be multiplyed less? So who would win if two mustangs were the same and one was shifting at 6200 and the other lets say 6900?
