The Mustang obsession thread

MY Mustang obsession

Yeah , get tired of the you outta sell it stuff, just cause always working on it. That"s what makes it better !:SNSign: On that note, thanks for the good advices from the folks on here too ! My closing argument is that, would have to spend 35 grand plus, to get something as good as mine too (even tho its paints not too good, mean performance wise)... :jaw: hehe

    Having a job help with getting a girlfriend now thats a joke , when i had my last job was recovering from the heat, or just dog tired. You probably never worked a job where you worked ten hours a day in constant heat and with wierd hours and usuallly on saturdays too (10 hours then usually too). but then can't get a galfriend here, now that have no job, lol never can win (must be those :Damnit: small town backstabbers)

Been Framing custom homes going on 10 years now. Still leave for work @ 6 am every morning and quit @ 5 pm. So yes, I know what its like, you just man up and deal with it.

When I had my 25th Anniversary GT (damn I miss her), I would wake up in the middle of the night (or if just couldn't go to sleep), hop in the stang and hit my personal road track. I live in Houston right next to the beltway in the outer skirts of the city and it's deserted in the middle of the night. Except for one lone Muscle car screeching through the night at 125+ miles an hour. I did it every night. Ran consistent times at about 3:00 AM when it was nice and cool. It was the only way that I could finally go to sleep. Whenever I got board on any day, that Stang brought an instant smile to my face. All I had to do was turn the key. :nice:

I think all "obsession" is the same. Thats really why the 5.0 crowd is different. Most 5.0 owners do their own work, and when you do you own work you littlerally develope a relationship with the car. I look at it as part of my family, its the first car Ive ever owned, learned to drive stick on it, bought it bone stock.

I get tired of hanging around the cobra crowd, because they arnt the same, they dont have any attachment to their cars, to them its just a car.

I think about the car every day and think about how I can save money for my next mod, plan stuff out, I go over my friends houses and check out whats new with theirs, Id rather work on my car then go out if theres something that needs to be done with the car, during my h/c/i swap, I pulled 3 days straight of working on the car and about 8 hrs of sleep a night, I got sick because I didnt eat for 3 days lol. But the car was done!

As a side note: That is not how I wrecked the GT. I was in the office one night untill about 4 am (when I'm bored, I either race or work). I had just exited the freeway on my way home and a truck cut me off. I swirved to avoid clipping him and hit a pole at about 40MPH:nonono:

I hit so hard, the car flexed to the shape of a boomerang. The passenger seat was what saved my life because the pole pushed it right up to my shoulder, keeping me in my seat.

The wife threatened to leave the other day. I stopped her when she started to place my control arms in her trunk...j/k. We did take a trip over to Greenville today. Spoted a fixable vert, an early gt and a 70's era stang. Thought about having the wife stop to ask about the vert. Made the smart choice and decided against it. Still searching for the mechanics special though.

Bit more to my story still so heres a bit more .
Heh , that s much better than working in a rubber mixing plant, no carbon black. After had some money saved up quit , doing college now. They dont tell you to work a Ten hour saturday, then go to 12 hour days for Monday, Tuesday,WEdnesday(time shifted forward two all of a sudden) then shift two back )and to ten all the while . Any place that trys to make me work from 4 PM to 4 AM in the morning can just forget it. It's just a job, not worth dying for , getting home at sunrise isn't for the birds even :D
Sincerely,
Hink
