Shaker 500 switchout w/f150 CD/Cassette

Call me stuck in the 80's or whatever but I want to be able to listen to cassettes in my new GT (I have a TON). Ford makes a radio for the F150 that should swap right in. I did the same on my 2004 F150 (single CD for CD/Cassette). But the Shaker 500 CD6 that is in my Mustang has an additional plug on the back (the smallest one on the left next to antenna hole). I haven't actually removed my radio to see if this used (got pics off ebay). So the question is, what is this plug in for? My car does have the active anti-theft system, does have to do with that? Anybody else done this?

You are stuck in the 80s! :rlaugh:

I lived through 8 tracks and cassettes and disco. Cassettes and disco went together. 8 tracks were a bit earlier. Now I embrace the ipod and I love it.
Sometimes moving forward is just the best thing to do.
I'm 53 and no longer have the hair styles I used to have either. Heck, I'm just glad to have hair.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm all about the ipod too, but thats an easy fix. Every once in a while I'll but a tune I REALLY like on i-tunes that I already have on cassette. I'm sure that there is a way to get my music from cassette to CD, I just haven't researched it yet. I'm leaning toward an aftermarket head unit, just need to find one with CD/Cassette/AUX input jack on face of head unit. THAT would be perfect!

well the other side to this is that the cassettes wont last forever; however, if you wanna take the next step as i did, i took all of my cassettes and vinyl albums and imported them into my computer and put them in digital format (they still sound the same) and then selected the ones i liked and put them into my mp3 player (mine is an ipod) and listen to them on the shaker 500 - and , if you dont want an mp3player burn them onto disc and listen to them thay way - you could get about 5 days worth of music on 6 cds - JUST take that next step like it did.
