im a loser im a security guard. Well because i went to school to train for Boeing jobs. Just graduated so waiting and waiting for Boeing to call.

My Grandfather worked at Mc.Douglas (started back when it was Curtis still) and got quite high in mngmt., My Mother has worked there (now Boeing) since 77-78. One of my Uncles was an engineer for Boeing and is now retired' in CA. My grandfather asked me if I would want a job there...I said no thanks. Later on (many years after he retired) after a strike and the sale of MD he sold all his stock and said good choice.

hey i am bored so lets do a work topic! yay!

i work at a small shop (5 guys) that makes custom fabricated aluminum oil pans and valve covers for racers.

Most of what we sell is circle track and sprint cars. Not as much drag stuff right now.

He sells to engine builders, not to just weekend racer joe or anything, the big engine builders and machine shops all buy his stuff and its all super nice and beat Moroso and milodon etc. they are really really badass parts.

my dads known the guy since he was young and i was looking for a good job, i started there in late may, i started little pidly stuff, went on to machining parts and bending shells and all sorts of fabricating and detailing the finished part. I also learned to weld here, started TIG welding the rails together and recently started pulse welding stuff people will see ;)

its a great job and new week i get to go with the guy to a PRI trade show in indy and go to the races that friday. its going to sweet

heres the site for the shop

share your jobs!!!!!

Dude, you been working there all of this time you're just now saying something about. *smacks Foxfan in the back of the head* Your pans look freakin' sick. I was going to get a Moroso, but I think I gonna get your now. What are the prices on the wet sump drag pans?

Thats what I really want, I wouldnt mind having a job that involves some labor. I turn 18 in november so Im just waiting till then and hopfully ill get off my ass and find a real job. Id really like to get some kind of job at an oil changing plcae or autozone, but I really wouldnt mind working in construction or movning boxes in a factory, cause you can make some decent money there.
If you want to do physical labor, working with your hands etc (rather than desk type jobs) learn a trade. There are many skilled trade jobs out there that you can take an apprenticeship and earn while you learn. Pipefitters, millwrights, carpenters, ironworkers, boilermakers, mechanics, sheetmetal workers, and many, many more. There are tons of these jobs out there now because for several years these jobs were overlooked because students graduating were encouraged to get more education and get "better" more "glamorous" jobs than trades. But the biggest thing is these jobs are in demand and more and more every year because all the men in these trades are starting to retire and people are needed to replace them. These are good paying jobs and you only spend 2 months a year in school for 3-5 years during your training and then your a journeyman. If you would be happy with 11-12$ per hour than making double that or more should appeal to you. I live in Canada and make $31.97 in my trade.
Just something to think about as I noticed you were young and have yet to have a career. Good luck.:)

Sounds good but i dont want to make physical labor my career, I want to go to school for engineering, or drafting. That would just be a job to make some decent money while trying to support myself, and mod my mustang.

Cant do it. I am going on a big fall tour though..

Sweet, I know (though not personally) how hard it can be.

My friend's uncle's wrote a couple of VERY famous songs for Garth Brooks and a couple of VERY famous songs for John Michael Montgomery, (old Country is cool- not new) so I know from my friend how hard it is. He's dayum talented too. I haven't seen em in a couple years.

I believe his uncle's name is Greg Vaughn if anyone knows who that is.

Anyway my grandfather was a musician/milkman his whole life. I wish I were half as talented... I have the drive w/o the talent

LOL,I got to agree,I would have had you build our pan, went with a Jeff Jonhson cause of the Titan pump.I got a cut-up Moroso steel pan I will someday finish that will be able to fit that pump configueration with my own pick-up.It sucked to,I had the pan so close to fitting perfect, then the pick-up tube hit the side near the #4 were the rails get skinner...and part of the pick-up was a Moroso...:nonono:
