i work at a small shop (5 guys) that makes custom fabricated aluminum oil pans and valve covers for racers.
Most of what we sell is circle track and sprint cars. Not as much drag stuff right now.
He sells to engine builders, not to just weekend racer joe or anything, the big engine builders and machine shops all buy his stuff and its all super nice and beat Moroso and milodon etc. they are really really badass parts.
my dads known the guy since he was young and i was looking for a good job, i started there in late may, i started little pidly stuff, went on to machining parts and bending shells and all sorts of fabricating and detailing the finished part. I also learned to weld here, started TIG welding the rails together and recently started pulse welding stuff people will see
its a great job and new week i get to go with the guy to a PRI trade show in indy and go to the races that friday. its going to sweet

If you want to do physical labor, working with your hands etc (rather than desk type jobs) learn a trade. There are many skilled trade jobs out there that you can take an apprenticeship and earn while you learn. Pipefitters, millwrights, carpenters, ironworkers, boilermakers, mechanics, sheetmetal workers, and many, many more. There are tons of these jobs out there now because for several years these jobs were overlooked because students graduating were encouraged to get more education and get "better" more "glamorous" jobs than trades. But the biggest thing is these jobs are in demand and more and more every year because all the men in these trades are starting to retire and people are needed to replace them. These are good paying jobs and you only spend 2 months a year in school for 3-5 years during your training and then your a journeyman. If you would be happy with 11-12$ per hour than making double that or more should appeal to you. I live in Canada and make $31.97 in my trade.mob said:

Sounds good but i dont want to make physical labor my career, I want to go to school for engineering, or drafting. That would just be a job to make some decent money while trying to support myself, and mod my mustang.

Im a welder/fabricator for Stainless Works Performance Exhaust, i also have my own shop where we specialize in engine building and "different" swaps, like mine. Like i mentioned before im planning on a 545 stroker for my fox, and the 5.0 is gonna be a 331 with some boost in probably a ford festiva.
