I did see awhile back that either fast fords or 5.0 mags did a install story on the wild ride stang box. if you can't find the article i could look back threw all my mags for it need be.

I do think they said it was a good product. I also believe they bolted and welded it in.

Search threw all my mags and came up short, even did a search on the tech articles on the web site and still nothing.

But what i can remeber, is that it's use to complete replace your uppr control arms when they damaged bad.

You would need to cut out the entire top section containing the upper arm, because the new priece would replace it all.

Now if I remeber right, it was both welded in and bolted in. Mostly bolted but they spot welded for more streath. (Maybe along the frame rails)

Your best bet is just to contact wild rides themselves and get the details.

I do think the mags gave it a :nice: Sorry i couldn't find the article for you. It might be one of the few I've thrown out in the last ten years.

That was something i was considering until i read that you had to cut out the old stuff and bolt / weld in the new piece. while it looks strong as hell, i just bought the torque box reinforcements. to get that battle box welded in, they quoted me 800 bucks becasue you have to drop the rear end completely out of the car to do it properly. i have the magazine article you guys are talking about at home. ill see if i can find it when i go home at lunch.

I had some issues with my upper control arms, i managed to get them back in place and put reinforcements in. PITA.

But i priced that piece out, it's too expensive, my chasis shop was willing to do their own custom mounts for like $500.
By the time that thing is installed it's like $700.

Could just do a TA and eliminate the rear upper arms
I thought about that when mine were screwed up.
By the time you buy the torque arm, PHB, correct springs, you are way past what it costs just to fix the upper boxes.

Supersloth, goto a chasis shop and get an estimate, NJ prices where i live are high on such things, alot of demand, very few shops. So wherever you are might be alot cheaper.

Ok, it took me a while, but i fund the damn article lol... its in MM&FF, October 2004. <--- (thats why it took me forever to find) its volume 17, number 10. On the front cover it has "Turbo Terrors for street / strip", has a picture of a 2000ish model stang with a crazy flamed / riveted paint job. if you cant get a copy of it, let me know and ill mail the damn thing to ya

But with the PHB and TA you are left with a much superior system. Definately worth every dime in my book.

Sort of.
Handles much much better, but 60fts. worse.

Me personally i'd rather have repaired torque boxes and the PHB (or watts link), but no torque arm.
