Just bought my 5spd 3.8 v6,it was a good deal, clean as a whistle and almost as fun to drive as my old 5.0....Anyways,im going to check/change the tranny fluid and radiotor just to be smart... also and clean the K&N that it came with...
I want to check the plugs, and was wondering what is the best for the job. platninums or just regular etc, brand wise i dont care...

And was wondering if anybody agrees with my junkyard exhaust idea...Easy find a wrecked v6 unvolt the exhaust from the cat back take all the hangers etc...Cut out the factory muffler and put a flowmaster in its place weld it toghetehr and put a nice chrome pipe out the back...Just to get a mellow rumble that i can barely hear in the cabin..I like to be able to match my exhaust note with shifting and etc...just something i always have to have is an exhaust.. this idea is about 80.00-100.00 for the junk and the new muffler(i can weld it)...

The other idea for exhuast is just to buy a cat back MAC for like 350 shipped..Except it is dual mufflers love the look but dont like the idea for a v6. if anything it would make it quieter caus eit would have two mufflers resonating the sound down..any suggestions?

Single Flowmaster on the driver stock exhaust sounds like crap. If your gonna go flowmaster route, go dual and just keep your Y pipe or not. And look and ask around for some GT takeoff's. You'd be surprised at how many people are begging people to take that crap from their garage already for almost nothing. I got mine for free, scrapped the mufflers and used the tubing and tips.

But then again, you say you have welding equipment, play around with different exhaust setups and see what you like.

I agree, run a dual exhaust. I'm planning to run a performance exhaust with true dedicated dual pipes out the back. That single pipe out the back kinda looks goofy.
