I picked up my 2001 Mustang GT back in May with 30,000 miles it now has 39,000 miles. My best run was a 14.40 @ 99.91 mph with a 2.38 60ft. The only difference between stock are the Nitto 555's 245/45/17 all around and a K&N CAI.

Track Conditions were: 50 degrees F, 30% humidity, and I think elevation is around 200 ft at Lone Star Raceway Park near Sealy, TX. It seems to run pretty strong stock especially with it's trap speed, but I couldn't get my 60 foot times down(everyone was saying track prep was "ok" and it's entirely possible it's my driving killing my times). I just wanted some feedback on my times. See how they compare and wether my car is running well or if I should be pulling better times.

An '06 Z06 I ran was running low 12's in comparison though when I ran the guy he had a reaction time of .7XXX and a 60ft of 2.1XXX.

ewwww....yea bro...get a short throw......Mine is breaking into the 10's and i have the same mods as you but + a steeda tri-ax:shrug:
Did you just say 10's? Hoping its a typo

AMX, thats where i run my car and the track prep isn't great, its okay. Alot of people complain about it but its ALOT closer to my house than Baytown is.
I was gonna head out there as well but unfortunately my gear install was delayed til tomorrow. With those conditions i could've been seeing freakin 13.4's all day if not a bit better. Do you go often?

No, this was my first time to go drag racing since I was 16(I'm 19 now). I should be going more often since I've freed up some time, but I went this weekend only because A&M Sports Car Club had their last Drag Race event held at Sealy. Now that the semester is almost over I might try to go during winter break, but I'll have to see. I'll definitely be out again once the second semester starts back up though.

Oh and dsg I think I'll go with the MGW instead, but thanks for the advice though haha :p

Ran a little faster than me my first time, with a little slower 60'. I got a few more bolt-ons, and Nitto 555 285's in the back, so I'd say your doin damn good.

No idea what the weather conditions were like on my runs though. Felt comfortable to me  . Where can you find that kinda info?

Also, what RPM's did you shift at? I was shifting at red-line, and I've since been told to shift a little earlier. Power-shift any?

You can usually find weather conditions on the track's home page somewhere or you can always just look up the weather for that area on a weather station's website. Sealy had the conditions posted up and elevation I wasn't sure about. I just know that San Antonio Raceway is 200 ft elevation so I guessed.

I was shifting right at redline. I noticed that I could take off a tenth and a half shifting as close to redline as possible versus shifting earlier like alot of people said to. My car seemed to pull all the way to redline, and seemed to want to go even further if I'd let it. I wasn't powershifting any...this is my DD so it needs to last especially to get me from College Station and back to Austin regularly.

Get you 60foot down to 2.1 and you'll be running low 14s.

get some gears in that bad boy and work on the 60's the times will drop. I use to be just like you running the 2.3s in the 60' and finally two days ago i ran a 2.0 with a little bit of work. Just need to get a lil practice on slipping the clutch off the line. I shift around 5500 and that seems to work the best for me.
