I am looking for a set of headers to get. I was looking at the bassani one but they are quite pricey. I want to get optimal gains from these so... long tubes would give more power .. from what I've heard. I was looking at MAC headers for about 340 compared to the bassani 580. Just wondering from peoples personal experience what are some good headers without any leaking problems?

Flowtech or Hooker FTW imho. Being that they allow access to drop the tranny, don't hang low (like SLP's do), provide great gains, are cheap as hell (got my very lightly used flowtechs for $320 shipped with midpipe, my buddy got a set for his 97 cobra for $300 shipped with midpipe), and if you really, really don't wanna drop the K-member then you can install these without doing so (you must raise the engine though).

I'd say if you don't want to spend an insane amount of money, go with the BBK Ceramic Coated Longtubes.

I might consider the Flowtechs as well when i decide to get LT's. They just don't seem very popular on the SN95's and there might be a reason for that

well this makes me feel good about my choice of headers. Slps are expensive I paid $700 for mine from rpmoutlet. Im excited to get mine installed hopefully that will happen over xmas.

I ordered mine from there but they kept screwing me around on my order and 2 weeks later they never shipped.. When I called, they said they had a problem with my order. So I cancelled since I had to get the headers on in the next 4 days and had to pay $835 from Jegs :(

i personally am looking at ceramic coated mac l/t's. allow room to drop trans and i am very happy with my other mac producs and the price is right too. 446 shipped. i still have a few questions myself on bbk vs mac tho ill get around to posting before i order.

you can drop the trans with mac lt's. i just read an instruction guide while searching to do so but forget where it was. basically all you need to do is turn the trans sideways they said and it will fall right out with the mac lt's still on.

Yea I have an automatic... soo I dunno where that comes into play I hope it isn't a prob.. But I didn't think of it that way as far as the coating on the headers... But if you think about it.. The only differences in headers that matter is the Bend pattern, Coating and the connection at the engine. The Bend and length of the pipe will allow for different HP. So Mac Ceramic Coated LT's or BBK Ceramic Coated LT's I'll check on the pricing and get back thanx.

which ever brand you choose, make sure you cough up the extra $150 or so to get the ceramic version or else a few months down the road you'll end up having to spend $250 for a solid steering shaft.

just wondering if thats because the heat off the cheaper ones will warp it???

Also I have Full Bassani Exhaust the X-pipe and the Cat Back. Just wondering if the Long Tubes will fit! If necessary I might just buy a cheap off road mid pipe to put into place that can be changed from off road to catted!
I found SLP for 700 @ rpmoutlet.com
I like the Bassani headers they will be 550 on rpmoutlet.com after thier promotional code. compared to the bbk which I found for like 440 or so?? I wonder if the bassani will make equal power!

thats an ugly price man. I think i like my 700 dollar order lol. Mine should be here soon im excited to get these suckers on. And then some VT stage 1s either this summer or next summer. First i gotta find out if this ticking sound ive got is an exhaust leak or something else. Im gonna post up some clips when i get home so yall can give me some opinions on what you think it is.

you will need a "shorty" midpipe to fit the l/t's

the cheapest your going to find bbk ceramic l/ts new and shipped is american muscle/ 6% discount. going to be about 490.

cheapest on mac ceramics lt/s is from imperforamce which sells on ebay for 446.

bbk's and mac's will net the same power, no it could not be exactly the same, but idk even know which one would gain more?? id think anybody would acctually have that data as a fact.. its just too close.

get a shorty off road prochamber and have some cats welded to it.

for the auto part, i ccant help you there.. but i know most lt/s are designed for 5-speeds.

THE thing im wondering for all you bbk guys is why do i keep seeing threads with bbk headers and people have gashes in them?? is something thats common, and will macs have the same issues. remember i have cams so the motor does shake around a good bit.. somebody please inform me on this. poly mounts are planned to go on too,, will that even help tho?

Yea If I get them I'm leaning towards bassani headers because of the fact that I won't have to change the midpipe. Which was extremely expensive. I'll have to call bassani to ask if it will fit the auto trans. If not I give up on modding my car. haha I'll wait untill I get a New whip in about 2-3 years and just run this baby till she's done! I Need a paint job before the headers too.. but anyway... Yea If I buy them I'm going to have to install them my self!!!!!! To save money! I was just wondering???

Is there any tech threads On installing the headers? Or any Tricks to doing it? I was looking the other day and the drivers side doesn't look bad but the passenger side looks like... wait I can't even see the damn headers haha impossible. thanx later

Yea I was looking around at threads.. and dropping the K-member reall opens it up. but I dunno about messing around with all the front suspension and crap.. well I need an alignment anyway. but what about the springs.. etc all the components. I would almost rather bitch and moan squeesing the bolts in but then again..... Yea I definitely wouldn't want to pay anyone to do it! don't have that kinda cash! I want to try to get access to a lift my buddy works at jiffy lube and I might be able to rent the lift we'll see. My brothers car has longtubes on it! and this encouraged me to do so on mine... About the MIL eliminators Where can I find them and how much?

bassani headers would = ceramic mac's + a new midpipe. basanni products are expensive. renting a lift wouldnt be worth it either imo, its just alot of crap u gotta take off from what i see.. just time consuming. cant wait till feb/march when i can say ive done it! still debating k member's/midpipe's and my bank.
