i have a 97 cobra and it is from canda so it has daytime running lights is there a way to un hook them

Yes there is. All you need to do is unplug the DRL module. It is located inside the drives side fender up front, a black looking box with what looks like some heat sinks on it. Your lights will work as normal when you turn them on at night. Why do you want to disable them? Why not just leave it as it is, nothing wrong with being visible on the road.

no luck the only black box i seen was on the front bumper support right above the fog light and i unpluged it and no lights worked even when i truned them on

That's odd. I had a faulty DRL module on my '91 Ranger meaning that the daytime running lights weren't working but as soon as I turned on my headlights they worked so I'm assuming that when you unplug the DRL module the lights should work. The DRL module in my '96 Cobra looks exactly the same as the one in my Ranger so it should work the same way.I mean it shouldn't matter wheather the DRL module is faulty or unpluged, lights should still function when turned on.:bang:

Ford sent me a letter back then when I had my Ranger informing owners that some DRL modules were faulty but that the lights will function normaly when turned on so I'm puzzled why your lights won't turn on when you unplug the DRL module. Unless the Mustangs are wired differently than the Rangers.
