whats the widest tire and wheel for 07 gt

  • Sponsors (?)

I dont know about a 315. I have 295 19s on a 19x11 wheel and they set flush with the edge of the wheelwell and theres not a whole lot of clearance from the shock on the inside.

But thats just a guess without measuring or exact specs.

I ran 20X10's on the rear with 295's on my 06"GT.They were Raceline wheels and T/A KDW (traditional tread). There was plenty of clearance with no tire rub on the inner fenders.

I seem to be asking myself the same question. on the 05-07 in a 20x10 (saleen rim in my case) what IS the wides and best including sidewall height?
some say 315/35/20 like slammer1 runs, BUT noone can verify this so far.

really? I have been bothered by this thread (http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=662887) and slammer1 is running 315/35/20 p zero nero in the back. I know he mentions that "the saleen susp is very stiff" but what I wanna know is: are his tires not rubbing due to the super stiff suspension not letting the wheel travel far enough to rub, and if it did travel enough would it rub the quarter wheel well lip?

315, 305 stick out, 295 is the biggest to stay flush

Are you simply making up information? I can make a 245 stick out like a skateboard, and a 345 not be withing 10 feet of the fender. It's all about backspacing (and total available area). There is enough space to fit 345's in the fenders, but I think they would rub on the shocks on a hard corner- I haven't tested.

That said, 315's fit. On stock Saleen, and on a stock Roush (both lowered from the factory), the owners are running 315/35/20's and loving it.

Bigcat. yes it is a bit taller, on a GT with saleen 20" rims but...If lowered 2" all around it should come back to norm (GT) heigh maybe a lil lower, can anyone of my stan-a-neers verify such?

I will leave the stock prings but I will def drop it later on if I can verify a "GO!" on the 315/35/20 on a rear saleen rim with no rubbing.

Okay, I'm a newbie

And this is probably a really stupid question, but what's the biggest size tire I can fit under my '06 GT with the 18" Chrome Bullits? I've made no mods to my car except the sequential turn signals, but I'm beginning to get really pumped to do a lot more after reading all these posts.

larry3828 ,

It all depends on what you want and how far you want to go with or without dropping the car, is is a daily driver? 295's are very common. HOw wide are the bullits? 9 inch or 10 inch in the rear? thatg would make a huge diff on how wide you can go without rubbing

Thanks for your response. It's definitely a daily driver in all but the nasty weather. I hadn't really thought much about it, but the wheels are the optional 18" bullitts that came with the car. I'm not sure, but I think they are 9" wide. I would like to drop it down some since I don't really like the gap in the wheelwell and I'd like it to handle a little better than stock. Plus I think it would look much better.
