So I replaced my clutch cable (30 minutes) and then my heater core (5 hours!) and I take the car for a test drive. I get a mile or so from the house and while shifting from second into third, the clutch quits. I can't get it into any gear! Ugh! I pull over and push the car into a parking lot. I walked home and got the van, jack, ratchet, etc. I pull the access cover off only to find the cable is securely connected to the fork.
Looks like I'll have to pull the whole tranny and see what's up. I started the car in gear and limped home at 15 miles per hour. At 20 it had a funny vibration. So I'm thinking that the throw out bearing became disconnected from the clutch fork. They don't seem to lock in there very good to begin with.
What do you guys think?
I'll be under the car streaming obsenities tomorrow morning.
