Congratulations Dave....The 'Big 3'!!

Well...All I can say is, my car made it to '2'. The 3rd one will come with the new owner as he has a shoot with MM&FF in '08. I suppose I could take some of the credit. LOL.

So, where to now, buddy? :D What possibly can you do to top this?

me to  on corral.... when it seems that the majority of his followers are here on stangnet.

congrats man.

Actually I meant I saw that the latest issue was in my mail box and I thumbed through it quickly. I read the write up last night and it was dejavu.....I have heard the story, know the specs on Dave's car and have seen all the goodies.

I would imagine this is leaving Dave with a sense of....whats left? Sure you can drive and enjoy the car as I assume he will, but everything has been done. Its a great car and I think its cool he has got the recognition by the magazines. I wonder if he has anything up his sleeve for the next build?

Anyway, enough rambling. Nice job Dave:nice:

I was planning on a Notch build but with me & SC planning on moving next year that will be on hold. Whatever ends up being the next one will be whatever she wants as her Mustang :nice:

Thats a great idea, take it from a newly married man who has fought through the ups and downs of a woman: If honey is happy, your happy!
Maybe we can make her think what she really wants is a Notch, the thought of a Mansonozz'd Coupe makes me all warm and fuzzy inside......well maybe thats the Bailey's in my coffee this morning but you get the picture:D

Davey, get a S197. Trust me, they are great. I am planning a few things for the wife's car this winter. Nothing major, just adding a few personal touches. They are a fun car.

Jeff......whats up your sleeve??? I saw the other "4 sale" post.

Throwing around the idea of 'getting out fo the game' for a bit. Not sure yet. More than likely sticking in it. Just weighing out some family type options. My kiddies are getting older...Trips, sports etc...Not knowing how much I'll be driving the car this year. I gotta be honest, though, if the ROUSH goes back on the post and sells, I'll probably miss this one more than the 92. LOL...If you can believe that. This car is a blast to drive. Okay, temporarily talked myself out of it. :D

Damn Jeff, that sucks to hear. Nothing stopping you from still getting a cheaper Fox and mildly building it for a more all-around driver. What's $4000 in the grand scheme of things, plus a little bit of dressup here and there? Nothin, I tells ya. Now do that in the least! :D

Dave: SHHHH! That's the plan ;) Actually, right now I am tossed between a Notch and an S197. Like I said it'll come down to what she wants, and I'm thinking that'll be an S197. I have plans for each already, so I don't really care which way we go. She already says she doesn't want a show car, but that is definitely happening one way or the other :rlaugh: It may not be as done up as mine, but it'll be sick. No doubt.

I have heard the same thing over and over again. :D Not going the same route as my 87. I am going a different route that will allow her to drive the car without me worrying about the forecast every 1/2 hour.

Jeff.....the Roush is sweet. I say do your thing to it, keep it driveable and enjoy it when you can.

I'll definitely do it up nice but just not to the extent of the '92. Then again, at least half the stuff I did wouldn't be required on a newer one. If we go with a Notch, I I'll leave the body stock, put a clean set of rims & big brakes, nice seats, and make the engine bay another work of art - but in a different direction ;) No clue on what I'd do for power mods but I'd like to leave it mostly alone.

You can't go wrong either way. The cool thing about the Notch would be the amount of money you would have into it vs. the shear purchase price of a S197. It leaves alot of room for mods on a notch.

With the wife's car, I have done the exterior changes already. They are done. Now I am going to work on the engine bay, then interior. Like you said, not going to the extent I did with mine. Just want to make it a little different.

The engine bay will be nice, just a little easier to clean if it gets wet if you know what I mean.

Thanks Scott. I love the car, too. Driving it is an absolute pleasure. Unfortunately for me, I've only been able to drive it 20 minutes since bringing it home. That may be one of the contributors to my train of thought. LOL. Spring is a long time away.....Lots of time to think. In the mean time, I've added a JLT intake, ported TB, polished C&L plenum, ROUSH Classic shifter, ROUSH polished valve cover plates and oil fill cap....:D

Congrats again Dave. Great pics!! Who shot that feature? Greg Jarem?? Looks similiar to what he did to mine is why I ask.. I dont get MM&FF anymore..
I was reading thru these posts and its funny you mention sellin and your future plans..Sounds exactly how I felt after a few years of mine...But long behold Im sure once you have that eye for detail the sickness never ends you just learn to avoid the headache causing mods sorta speak.

Good luck with your move and sale if you choose to do so.

Thanks Tom. It was done by the new associate editor, Frank Cicerale. Some of the other highway pictures ended up almost exactly like yours did, it was real uncanny.

That's one of the reasons I keep it somewhat tame, so I can help keep the headaches down. As it is my list of things to do consists only of those pesky little details that just annoy me. After the transmission swap last year it made the car twice as fun to drive, so I honestly happy with it all around. Now to fix everything bugging me and just keep it alive as long as I can. I can't even say that if/when the engine goes I'd replace it with something huge. I probably won't...just a 302 with a stout lower to keep it tame again. So that's as far as this one goes.

Thankfully I can hold my horses (ha) on the horsepower bug without going nuts, otherwise this one would be insane. So that'll save me on the next car too :) I think she wants whatever Mustang she gets to be her daily, and if so that just makes it more the reason to keep the engine mods down. Doesn't mean I can't have fun with it, of course ;)
