2000 gt 5spd 60k miles, no frame damage, even the rear bumpers are intact due to the collision being higher up (semi truck rear ended it). she runs, drives fine. no leaks, fluids are fine.

i'm buying her for 1,200$. how much should i be expecting to to pay to get her fixed?

things i know need replacing:

1 tire
hood

front/rear bumper covers
pony grille
some plastic fastners

rear deck
rear deck middle lights
spoiler
taillights
piece weld rear trunk support
trunk interior
tailpipes and hangars from the mufflers back

alignment & paint of new pieces

let's put it this way; My guess would be roughly $8-10k. Why not just buy a GOOD car? Here was my damage:

That's it. No engine damage. Needed a new hood and quater panel. Bumper was restored. New Radiator as well and little parts under the hood.

Parts & Labor? $6,000 of which I paid a whopping $500 and she came back to me gorgeous!

Good luck with yours!

I think you guys are confused. It's not his car that is wrecked, he's considering buying this car which is already wrecked for $1200. If that is the case and you have connections in the body shop industry, I'd say that's a steal! Is the title still clear?

I'm not liking the rear quarter either. I think its not a bad option tho... everything that needs fixing can be an upgrade. Get a full Roush stage 3 kit, new exhaust, new hood and then to the paint job. It wont be cheap but you could end up with a nice looking car at the end of it all.

thanks for your imputs. and yes, it is not my car (yet), it is one i'm buying.

i got a quote of 5,500$ and he said that was on the far side, that it might be 4,500-5,000$. i plan for most of it to be done professionally, but some of the odds and ends I can do myself and plan to save a few bucks hopefully.
