Finally found time to monkey with the car in between work and a 5 month old. Heres where the problem started, installed pertronix ignitor and pertronix coil without bypassing resistor wire, ran but was rough and not recieving full 12 volts to coil. Bypassed the resistor wire behind ignition with new wire with no success then accidently left ignition on over a few days. Now heres the prob, turn key to start car and get a click and interior lights go out. I can go take the neg battery cable off for a sec then put it right back on and the interior lights are back on. I have tried starting with the resistor wire in place and bypassing the resistor wire and got the same outcome. I have checked the battery, replaced starter solenoid, tried two different coils and still get the click and interior lights out. Is it the pertroix ignitor?

Your battery is dead. Or there is a connection problem between the battery and the solinoid. Also, the resister wire goes to the coil. THe +12v switched lin goes to the red wire coming from the Pertronix. Refer back to you instructions. http://www.pertronix.com/support/manuals/pdf/ignitor12vneg.pdf
However, that will not cause the problem you are describing. Check your battery, terminal, cable, solinoid connection, and then the line to the starter, and the battery ground.
