Another trip to Autozone

haha yeah our batteries are good, i won't deny that. but i still don't trust any of our electrical parts like alternators and starters.

Since we're on the topic of Autozone, I think you guys would appreciate this story. It's Saturday, and my buddy is fabricating a new exhaust for his beater pickup truck. We get in the 'Zone sometime in the early evening, and he asks the 30 something year old nimrod at the register what they have in the way of a 2.5" center inlet, center outlet mufflers.......... Here's where the rest of the conversation went:

Clerk: What are these muffler for?
Friend: My pick'em-up truck
Clerk: What year and make?
Friend: What does it matter, I'm fabricating the exhaust myself, I don't need factory mufflers
Clerk: I need the year and make of the pickup if you want me to get them for you
Friend: I NEED 2.5" CENTER INLET/CENTER OUTLET TURBO MUFFLERS W T F DOES IT MATTER WHAT YEAR THE TRUCK IS?
Clerk: It matters to me
Friend: FINE!!!! I need them for a 1966 Chrysler Batmobile ****head

At this point the guy behind the counter gives us a stupid look, and we walk out. I just don't understand how people that are really that incompetent can be employed at a business where price, but most importantly SERVICE determines whehter or not people will continue to shop there.

haha that employee sounds like a dip****. our mufflers are all side by side and all have a sticker on them that tells whether the muffler is center or offset inlet/outlets as well as diameter. no need to go into the computer for them. theres a girl that works at the other autozone in my town that is like that. she drives me crazy anytime i go help their store out and have to work with her. fattest, laziest, most worthless POS. lol

getting a belt for my a/c delete, the smog was by passed to so i needed like a 72.5 inch belt. AZ jerk brought me the same stock sized belt 3 times! even though i told him exactly what i needed....

I shredded my Vortec belt on My Cobra in 2004. I went to Murrays with that thing. It was 109 inch belt. The guy scratched his head, then goes, come back with me. He let me look through the entire wall...I found one.......

Anybody with a 96-98 Vorteched Cobra...You need an 82 Buick Century 3.0L V6 belt!! It has been on for 4 years!!! Lasted longer than the 3 month old bel Vortec supplied.

Man i hate autozone also i have way to many stories about that place and all the retards i've ran into in there. It amazes me if i'm asking for a specific part than chances are i know what i'm talking about.

One guy argued with me about a 160* thermo for my GTP.

Me: I need a 160* thermo for a 2002 GTP
Him: yeah we have it but it's going to mess up your computer
Me: no it won't
Him: yes it will
Me: no seriously it won't give me the god damn part
Him: you will get a check engine light
Me: possibly but it means nothing and it's easily tuned out with HPtuners
Him: it won't run right
Me: get me the ****in thermo
He finally got it for me unwillingly.

Just last week
Me: I need a timing chain cover gasket 1989 blah blah blah
Him: hmm special order item it's $90
Me: ummmmm well that's for the timing chain cover i need just the gasket (makes shape of gasket with hands)
Him: oh hmmmm (looks blankly at the computer then back at me messes with computer) yeah you want me to order that for you
Me: well no i don't i want just the gasket it does not cost $90 (makes shape of gasket again with my hands) why don't you look under GASKETS in the computer?

He finally get's it and i leave with my gasket...........

Oh and the head gaskets a few weeks ago
Me: i need part number 9333PT1
Him: What's it for
Me: you got the part number
Him: i need what it's for
Me: ok 1989 ford mustang
(he looks it up and i peek at the computer)
Me: hey look part number 9333PT1 that's crazy

All these encounters were with different ppl. too. I usually try to hit advanced auto when ever possible anymore.
