Try to get a buddy with a truck to perhaps rent a trailor and tow it home for less. Then plan it out and see what you can do about a new motor swap. Maybe you have some buddies that can do the swap with you over a weekend or something.

Chalk it up as a lesson learned. Now you know who not to deal with.

Nothing else you can really do at this point.

not to mention the guy when he finds out that my block was cracked... he tells me some half crocke story of how he got a text from an unknown number asking him why hes tuning cars with cracked blocks...lolol that was him trying to suggest that i brought him a already cracked block.... dat was fishy number one and then suddenly the kid rob at his shop wnats to buy my blower from me,,,and these are no liess my an i have the emails to prove it even emails from the kid rob asking me to call him so he can try to buy my blower...... its just a f-ed up situation all in alll,,,, i love this car and trust me ill pay and always pay on time for work done to it...... i dont know why im getting treated like gum off the bottom of his shoe,, he said i talk too much of what ive spent on the car,,, as a customer arent i allowed to say wow this sucks when my motor blows

wow 5hours to remove the lower intake? maybe the wrencher was missing opposing thumbs? lol

Seriously.. that's a long time for a lower intake... personally I agree with Tom.. you are expecting too much... In teh end most of the issues were not your fault, but it will be easier to just deal with it, learn from your experiences, find a tuner that you trust (and you must trust them) and go from there...

Would it have been a 'nice thing' to do for RS to help you out with the bill after you dropped some good coin? Yeah, sure.. but they don't have to.. its a business in the end.

I wrench myself... I don't farm anything out except dyno tuning and welding..

I have used MM and I will say that Joe always stands behind his work with me. One time I have a rocker loosen after a dyno pull.. they helped me push it out of the bay and then Joe lent me the tools to fix it. That's service.. he doesn't do that for everyone and it sticks with me. They are the shop that my car goes to when I am not doing it.

No shop is perfect, but I do trust the guys over there, and when it goes on the lift or spins teh rollers I am a bit less nervous than if it were at some mechanic who should be working at Ringling Brothers rather than a Mustang shop.

With no power tools it takes me less than an hour to get upper/lower/fuel rails/ijectors/cai/maf/valve covers off, another hour to adjust the valve lash, and an a little more than an hour to button it up. I think it is not smart to push the hp limit on a stock 5.0 block, they are proven to fail with as little as 400hp and a bad tune. You can buy a nice shortblock from fordstrokers.com for around 1850(check the site for more accurate pricing) throw your stuff on it and do it yourself, hell I'm no rocket scientist and it took me 3 weeks to learn enough to be able to give my car a safe tune AND run really well, if I can do it, anyone can.

Yank your car from that morons shop and write it off as a lesson learned and tell all your friends what happened and ask them to tell their friends, what comes around, goes around....

Hey Man, first a little advice. You need to TONE it down man. I know you're upset and probably a little heated. But you need to slow down, take the caps locks off, finish your sentences, try and spell words correctly and take out the slang.

We cant read the babble thats all over the screen, its very difficult to help you when we have to sift through all that gibberish to get to your points.

Lets start with Real Speed, I am not sure exactly why he had the car so long or why it cost so much, I am sure there is much more to the story then you're telling us also. I have been pretty involved with that shop over the years, I have seen many good things happen there and some very bad things. He always seems pretty busy so I don't know. I would rank his tuning ability as about average.

But in his defense, you were pushing the limits hardcore with that block. I dont care what DSS claims they do, its still stock casting and has its limits. You were right on the edge man. When you push the limits like that, be prepared for some real pain and expense. Many people will tell you that, my buddy tstang here knows it all too well.

The second problem is, the car breaks and suddenly you want people to feel sorry for you and start throwing you stuff. As Tstang said, sales tax is sales tax, he needs to collect it, NYS has cracked down on many shops for this. The extra few hundred bucks wasnt going to make or break you and you know it.

If you were not happy with his prices, then you should have said well thank you very much and went some place else. In fact if you're going to play this game, it would be wise to start learning how to do stuff yourself. A high powered car like that is going to be very high maintenance, and if you have to pay someone to fix stuff every time it breaks then damn son, I hope you have a big stack of cash. Learning how to do a short block swap yourself would come in handy.

You had many many variables here working against you any one of a ton of things could have cause your block to let go. Coming here in on a rant bashing a shop will get you no where fast bro.

I hope things work out for you, but welcome to the world of high performance and highly modified cars, you were asking that block to far exceed anything it was ever intended to do.

some of the people that have read the thread that when i went there i toldd him i did not want to blow this block......... he told me i could use the 3.12 pulley.. i blew the block with a 3.33 becuase i was scared to do the 3.33,,, if i went ther eloookign for e tune and a boost leel that wouldnt blow my block why wait till after to tell me" oh your gonna blow the block" when beforehand your saying i could go with the 3.12 pulley,, see people use em all the time... went there for service and also avice at the same time..... the situation f-ing blows and my mispellings are because my brains stuck on cruise control at about 115 miles an hour,,, and for like the 15th time im not bashing the shop........ im just letting it be known the way the guy acts... just becuase a customer asked to be worked with doesnt warrant him telling me be here on monday with a flatbed and take your car outta here..........cosnidering after the shortblock swap he would hae gotten over 6 grand from me in a two month span i figured maybe he could cut me some slack here............. i wasnt asking for a friggin handout.... i was aksin to not be "raped" ...theres a way to go about things..... you dont tell a paying customer be here monday and flatbed your car.......sorry but n1 will change my mind on that note

Jrichker has a saying in his signiture that says "BEFORE YOU BUILD A HOUSE BUILD A SOLID FOUNDATION.
Lets face it, you had a weak foundation with that dss built engine it was no better than a stock block. Really any thing over 450 hp on a stock block your asking for issues and you already knew this.

FWIW DSS motors are over rated and weak and I can speak from solid experience about this. You arer right, there are ways to handle things and this isnt the way at all. You need to calm down think about things and go talk to this shop owner and explain your self in a calm manner. He simply said if you dont trust him, come get your car. If you were rattleing on to him like you are in this thread I can see why he dosent want to deal with you.

oh it only gets better i spoke to dan toay to try to work things out....... bro the guy wound up yelling at me on the phone,,,,, i remained calm,,, i cnat believe i did... i een told him tht the only people allowed to yell at me in this world re my parents .... and he then said im sorry i yelled,,, lolol he was yelling at the customer...... and then he tried to say that me and him dont see eye to eye becuase of cultural differences......that made me want to jump on the lirr and go and hurt the guy......he said hes buying my chip back from me and not chrging me the 460 for taking of the upper,,,,,,he spited his own self,,, i was looking for no tax on a shortblock swap........... instead he sys i dont have to pay him the 460 and hes gonna buy my chip back, lol wat a dick he is indeed and the cultural statent ws much worse then him yelling at me.... and for all the people writing about oh he did work to your car ba ba ba,,,, i ammm not complaing or bashing his work,,, im complaining about the manner he ahndles himself in..... i can be sure that if we were face to face he would not have been yelling at me,,, and certainly would not have made the culture comment my car will be out of there by weeks end,,,, if any1 knows the guy......remind him to take his medication

im trying to remain calm but dudes on the forum......... the cultural statement was too much,,, i went right back at him and said what are you tryign to insist are u rasict??? nd the guy says oh no no ure from the 5 boroughs and you guys appraoch things differently.... wat a crock of ***** excuse that was man...... this experience blows guys seriously..... cultural difference...

5.0 drop toppp,,, i repeat im ino i ws pushing a stock block its not about that,,, i wish u were on the phone today when i ahd to make him chekc himself as he was yelling at me an then the culture staement,,, its not about the work its about the personality........ ive never in my life had some1 tell me we cnat see eye to eye becuase of "cultural differences" believe what you all may..... but it was said........... my motors gone,, im not gaining anything here..... i hope all of long island goes to his shop and makes him a millionaire,,, i dont care....... but the way the dude acts nd then today was the chart topper,,, i call to say when im coming with flatbed...... and hes yelling at me...... i dont know who he thinks he is the guy will yell,,,knwoing theres a phoneline in between us.... well see is he yells wed. when i goto pic up my car or brings up the culture difference then........ what lets just say what ifff i had been a blakc man and he said that....... get serious this isnt the way you go about buisness or tlkng to people in general..... f@k the motor F2k the car were talking about how to carry yourself as a buisnessman,,,,, when he got "Checked" he stated "im sorry for my tone i wasnt screaming tho i wsa shouting at you" now wtf is the difference.... u tlel me all you geniuses who have been trshing me.... its not about the car the blown motor or anything like that,, its about the way u carry yourself,,, and by the way... the car never ran right......kept stalling out at stop sings nd red lights an even stalled on the highway.. o yes that was fun..... i brought it bck for "adjustments" but it blew the next day......so last place i see the car was that it was not running correct.....so all you geniuses out there that bashed me... if u paid for a blower install u drove it home it stalled at red lights stop sings and on the highway with like a hundred people beeeeping at me to restart it while on the highway,,, u bring it back an then it blows.... u tell me would you be happy about the money you spent considering it stalled n stalled and stallled....... and go sk him yourself........ i ahd to come back for "adjustments"...guess well never know if the adjusments helped,,, but last it stood she wasnt running correct... he knows my car never rn correct .....yet hes telling me to flatbed it away...ino what i do for a living i take somepride in it ,,, if what i do isnt correct ill do it again till its right............especially for somehting that ive already been paid for,, but like i said its not about the blown motor... or the car..... its about carrying yourself like a proffesional...... the car never ran correct stand behind your work..... dont shooo me away,, stall stalll stallll,, if it kept stalling who knows wtf else was wrong..... bottom line is i need to learn how to do a shortblock swap myself......... cuz this alll blowz,,, u live,,,,,,,u learn......and word of mouth is a muther f-errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Man your single handedly keeping this thread alive. 4 posts in a row. What do you do. Throw a post up, stew some more, and throw another up. I feel for you when it comes to a cracked block. I cracked my stock block with a little less than 400 rwhp, and a year and a half later I almost have my new motor in. By the way Rick 91GT built my new Dart motor.

Listen get back what ever money you can from him, and cut your losses. I have taken notice that in the 7 hours you had the car you never said how you were driving it. If you were pounding it, and honestly I dont know any one who just got their car back from the tuner that doesnt pound on it to see if they got what they paid for. Did you get your dyno chart? Look at it, and if it was good tune I would say your problem is with DSS. Like it as said earlier, DSS wants to "help you out " because your buying from them again.

In the future take as much time as you can asking questions, getting advice, and figuring out what you can reasonably do yourself.

It sounds like he is at least trying to help you out some, by buying the chip back and not charging you to pull the intake.

I agree that no business minded person should yell at the cutomer. Its not professional.
I honestly have a hard time understanding everything you type. I think you said you knew you were pushing the stock block but you also stated the reason you wanted it tuned was to keep from pushing it to far. Unfortunatly there is no certian level to safely stay under when you go with power adders. I have saw guys pushing 500+ on stock blocks and not have issues. Then there are guys who break the block with much less than 500. It could be that the block you had was defective or a weak casting. Who knows. The whole situation sucks.
Im sorry to see anyone spend large amounts of money and have the engine break the first time it is on the street.
It happens alot though. My buddy owns a speed shop and he has built engines and done everything right and still stuff breaks. Its the nature of the beast, Muphys law, what ever you want to call it.

Take a deep breath and think things through. Obviously your still rattled and with good reasons. As for the "rasist" slur. I wouldnt worry about it. People say ignorant things.
