Does anyone here have pics of a behind the dash roll cage ina 66? I am planning on a full cage but don't want to place the "A" pillar bars in front of the dash. Looking at my car, it appears that I can keep them tight to the body and squeeze them between the dash and heater box. Any pics or experienced reasons as to why it won't work would be great.

Thanks

not many people have the degree of cage in their cars. at most is usually just door bars. But you can run the cage behind the dash. I can't imagine why you can't. Of course you would have to change A LOT of items to get it to work because there is no straight shot.

Well, carefully looking at it, I have what appears to be a straight shot down very tight to the "A" pillar. From there, I can extend front bars to support my frame (towers are gone). My upper and lower cowl is out so I can also reach in through the top which would allow me to hide a dash bar as well. I'd like to get the 7.50 and slower cert since I am going through the trouble. I recently did a Nova for a friend and he got the 8.50 and was told he could get the next if he installed the dash bar.

it is really easy.

try building a high end pre-runner with twice the cage work in a late model truck.

old cars are a walk in the park to cage.

My exact thoughts. This isnt the first cage I ve done. Having done several, and looking at my car (with complete cowl out) I don't see any major conflicts. My most difficult challege will be snaking the "strut bars" through the firewall and over the heater box but I think it can be done.

Thanks
