new mustang owner, what works?

Welcome to Stangnet.

If I had to do it all over again, I would do this in this order:

1. Aftermarket shifter. Not too expensive, easy to install, a major improvement over stock, and something you will benefit from and enjoy every time you drive your car.

2. Subframe connectors.

3. A tuner/flasher/programmer, closely followed by...

4. Gears. 4.10:1 unless you drive a LOT of hiqhway miles.

5. Exhaust. Something you just gotta do. :D

The subframe connectors (at least on my Stang) stiffened the chassis considerably...no rattles, shakes or anything like that over rough pavement. If I had to do it over Id go with 4.30's.

today i cleaned the maf sensor, seafoamed the intake/combustion/fuel, and cleaned up the k&n drop in, i have alot of work to go on this car to get it to where i want it to be, and not alot of time, and my wife has NO PATIENCE.jared

Be careful you're not fixing things that aren't broken...

I've never cleaned the MAF in any of my cars...ever. Nor have I ever used that snakeoil, and I never will (unless I'm planning a rebuild shortly thereafter). Some crap can do much more harm than good. I imagine it makes you feel better thinking that this junk has cleaned up some of the crud in your engine, but is it really necessary? It's like a freakin colon cleansing...:D

There is no reason to upgrade the maf on a mild bolt on NA car. Most of the "plug and play" maf kits just "trick" the car into running leaner.

What about the 90mm MAF off a Lightning for a full bolt-on NA car?
I came across one not too long ago and figured I would throw it on. But, if it's really making the car run leaner then I probably need to swap it back out for the stocker since I imagine that would be interfering with the tune from my hand held unit.
