Clicking Sound from Steering Wheel While Turning the Steering Wheel on my 2001 GT

UPDATE:
I took my GT into Ford to get the 6,000 mile oil change, tire rotation and lube service done to it today. One of the things which was on the agenda for them to check out was the clicking sound on the steering wheel next to the signal switch. Anyways, the chief mechanic who serviced my car tried everything that he could to "duplicate" the clicking sound by driving my car around and he "cannot" duplicate the clicking sound. He told me that he could not hear the clicking sound and that everything seems to work okay.
I wonder if the clicking sound that I hear once in a while is caused because of lack of grease and lubrication to the turn signal cancelling mechanism like someone in here mentioned in one of their posts???? If this is the case, then can grease or lubrication be applied to this mechanism "without" having to take apart the steering column and steering wheel? If so, how can the grease and lube be applied without damaging any of the electronics that's located inside the steering wheel and steering column? I think that there is some wiring inside the steering wheel and steering column for the air bag, the cruise control and for the turn signals.
