turbo 2.3 tranny options?

hey long time no post. I found a complete t-bird turbo motor and i was wondering what 5 speed options I have. I know my stock 2.3 t5 wont last but will a 5.0 t5 bolt up or are there some differences? thanks

why wont the stock t5 last. it is rated at nearly the same hp/tq levels as the 5.0 t5. they are both world class transmissions.

if you are really worried about it use a 2.3 bell housing on a 5.0 T5 and bolt it in.

The 2.3 T5 is the exact same thing as what they put behind the 190 hp 2.3T in the '87-88 Turbo Coupe. It'll hold up just fine.

if you are really worried about it use a 2.3 bell housing on a 5.0 T5 and bolt it in.

a possible option, but it will require an input shaft pilot bushing swap, the v8 trans has a larger input shaft.

the 2.3L t5 is good enough.
