Guys i got the bug. I started restoring my old high school five oh and cant stop spending lol. It has a stock 302 in it but i bought this set up for 700.00. Was it worth it? and what kinda HP will i be expecting. It also has a 190 lph fuel pump in it.

What i got was

Trick Flow street heat upper and lower
70mm throttle body with EGR
24 lb injectors
C&L 73mm MAF calibrated for the injectors

I got the whole setup on ebay for 730.00

Was it a good deal? And will i notice a difference?

since you got a trickflow intake, get some twisted wedge heads and either a tfs cam or anderson ford motorsport cam. yeah i wouldn't even run those injectors until you got a set of heads on there, you'll be pig rich.

About which heads to get, I would recommend AFR. They have consistently proven to make more power on the 5.0 and, not that you may care but, Lingenfelter always used them. The man was a engineer who knew how to make streetable power, just too bad he specialized in GM cars.

So basically i wasted my money? I should have bought heads instead? Heres why i got this first tho. I have a friend with the same car as mine. Years back mind u. We met after my stock five oh beat his almost stock five oh. He had a K&N imitation, exhaust, and timing bump. I beat him barely but I won. Then he got this set up and would beat me five car lenghts every time. Not to mention i had bald tires but still five car lenghts? He had stock heads. So I got this set up cause it is similar to his. He doesnt own the car anymore though. I wanna get full lenghth headers but am worried about clearance since i got lowering springs on my car. What do u guys think? And im not racing every day or weekend but I do want 400 HP by the time i am thirty lol. got 1.5 yrs left. Not to mention a Harley D!!! but thats a different animal lol. I also wonder about NOS. What do u recommend i use and yes i will be getting the twisted wedge heads or the Edelbrock Performer RPM heads. One of the two. Which nitrous kit is best as i dont wanna ruin my motor. Thanks

The heads have NO bearing on piston to valve clearance issues! It is the camshaft that causes the problems. You can run AFR 225's if you want, you just have to be careful of how much duration/overlap that your cam has. It also has nothing to do with how much lift the cam has, but WHEN the valves are opening and closing, again duration/overlap.

I'd go with a set of Canfields and a custom cam, all the bolt-ons in the world won't help much if the package does not work together as a whole. If that is not enough once you do that, then think about squeezing it but a well sorted hci 5.0 with a good cam, should be a sub 12 second car. Make sure the springs are ok for the cam and that pushrod geometry is dead on.

I got the twisted wedge heads now. so, what can i do to make them better? and what kinda HP am I looking at compared to the stock car. I havent installed anything yet as I am still waiting for my first shipment i ordered-intake, throttle, MAF, injectors ect. So here is what I will have in the car in about two weeks or sooner. UPS could hurry up imo.

Trick Flow street heat upper and lower
Professional Products 70mm throttle body
Ford Racing 24 lb injectors
C&L 73mm MAF and thier aluminum pipe
TFS Twisted Wedge Heads

WTB full length headers but not sure if my 2inch drop will have enough clearance for them. opinions wanted.

I had longtubes on this car, and its low as you can tell, you cant even see the tubes... bad angle in the pic but it had no problems, and it was around a 1 1/2 drop in the front

Umm. 185's and up have 2.02 valves in the standard location. The valve reliefs in the pistons aren't big enough. I'm not sure what cam you're recommending to overcome that. Low lift/low duration?
From AFR's website:
3) Valve Clearance:
Piston to valve clearance must be checked before assembly. AFR 185cc aluminum cylinder heads with 2.020 valves usually will not fit a piston without valve notches having proper reliefs. Also AFR 205cc heads with 2.080 valves might experience the same issues.
NOTE:
All stock pistons must be notched for clearance.

lol, whatever man. Do more homework. While what you say is true, the 185's won't work with your typical mustang grinds.

It's a well Known fact that the 185's have clearance issues.

Lose the C&L meter, it's crap.
Get a PMAS 75 or bigger (bigger the better)
Not really sure you need full length headers, and with that drop, i personally wouldn't do it.
I'd get bassani equal lenghts.

For head work, get them valve jobbed, with a bowl cleanup and seat presure.
No porting necessary

Should produce around 300rwhp hp, give or take few.
For your comparison to a stock car, that's about 100rwhp increase.

you need both anyway. the stock intakes are just as much of a joke as the stock heads, you just really wont see much from just 1 without the other.
