Removing the fan blade?

It is real easy to change out the fan. You can change it out with factory style replacement or you can replace it with a metal one.

Basically take the fan shroud loose and move it back so you can gain access to the front of the fan. Remove the fan and replace it. Your might want to replace the clutch at the same time, but as long as it is still good you will be just fine. It also might be easier to work by removing the whole fan and clutch assembly, and removing the fan belt. That is not necessary, if I remember, but could give you a little more working room.

Fan Drive Clutch Removal

1. Remove the shroud retaining screws, and lay shroud back over fan. If you're careful you don't have to mess with the shroud, but it will take more maneuvering of the fan/clutch assembly.

2. Remove fan belt. Remove bolt and washer assemblies retaining fan drive clutch to water pump hub. Remove fan drive clutch and fan as an assembly at the same time removing the fan shroud.

3. Remove retaining bolt and washer assemblies and separate the fan from the drive clutch.

2. Remove fan belt. Remove bolt and washer assemblies retaining fan drive clutch to water pump hub. Remove fan drive clutch and fan as an assembly at the same time removing the fan shroud.

Loosen the fan to water pump pulley bolts before you remove the fan belt. Let the belt hold the pulley from spinning.
