Is this a good deal on an 2008 GT?

Been watching the economy and the Ford specials. Sat with local Ford sales folks today and here's the deal. Left over new 2008 GT prem 5 Spd manual, Options: Anti Theft System, Int Sport Appearance, 3.55 gears, HIDs, GT Appearance, Ambient Lighting and TripTunes (whatever that is) with MSRP at $30,095. Will sell for $22,941 + tax, lic, & doc fees. That's $7k off sticker. It sure looks good to me as this has most of everything I want. This deal any good, could I do better? Tx.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. If they would pay taxes would be even better. Don't count on that. I have seen plenty of used ones for more.
Advanced triptunes lets you control an ipod from the headunit.

Hell ya.

That is a great deal, but consider whether you are going to significantly modify the car.

I just bought my 09 a month ago, and now with the list of mods I would like to do (GT500 fascia, suspension work, Saleen Supershaker, forged shortblock, wheels/tires, speakers, amp, eq) I am realizing that a used 2007 V6 for $13,600 from my local car max (19k on odometer) would have been a better deal.

If you are going to seriously mod the car (and it seems an irresistible force) then maybe consider used. I would have shied away from used because I would have been afraid someone would have abused the engine or suspension (clutch too I guess), but if it is all getting replaced, then that becomes moot -

I didn't really dig into the details of what I would want to modify until after I had the car -

Yeah, I bought mine 9 months ago for 24.5k for a 29.5k sticker and thought I had gotten one hell of a deal (invoice - 1.5k incentive - 1k student incentive)... 22.5k is really great.

Thanks for all the responses! I pulled the trigger on Monday and am now driving it. Woo Hoo!!! Probably won't get around to pics till this weekend - not that you all don't know what they look like. Have put about 70 miles on it and really like it. Sure is big coming from a 06 Miata (now for sale BTW).
