I'm going to be ditching my flows in another month or so for bassani. But I wanted to get you guys opinion on something. Should I get the catback or just the mufflers from 50 resto?

I'm buying the bx bassani catback from atomic performance, it's only 450. My weld-in flows have a huge hole on one side so I'm just going to spring for the whole catback.

The BX series uses the stainless mufflers, but all the other tubing and hardware is only aluminized steel.
But it's all about preference I guess. I happen to find Magnaflows to be the best sounding muffler out there and at $375 shipped for a full stainless catback. All hardware down to the bolts are stainless. Only parts that are not are the tip hangers.

I don't want to sound like too much of a dick, but I am warning you: stay away from aluminized exhaust components! They will rust and fall apart. Spend the extra money to get stainless, or else buy a different brand that comes with stainless components. My close friend bought aluminized tubing for his custom exhaust setup, and it rusted through in only 3 years. The stainless parts of his setup (the midpipe) still look great.

Well I have a prochamber that is about 5-6 years old and its still in good shape and I live in Wisconsin. Granted I don't drive it in the winter but in 5-6 years I'll probably want a different setup anyways.

Aluminum would last a year tops here. I would for sure get good quality if I were going to drop that kind of money. I love my flows right now..but I have a feeling I will hate them with a o/r midpipe

Aluminized is not bad. Just make sure to coat it with a high temperature paint.
I have an aluminized X pipe. I coated it with a high temp paint. It's held up for 5 years. But it hasn't seen salt and not much rain.
I am not saying aluminized is bad. I am saying $450 is way too much for an aluminized kit. When magnaflows full stainless can be had for $375 shipped.

$450 is a lot of money and i'm having trouble putting out that much for a catback when I could just buy the bx mufflers.

Where can you find the magnaflows for $375, everywhere I have looked it is about $500 dollars?

I got mine from planet magnaflow.com and offered them 350 for the set. They came back w/ 376 shipped. Deal and I love them.
