Hey guys i'm new to this forum so if this has beeb brought up before please point me in the right direction.
I'm looking to modify my 1991 LX vert which is bone stock appart from a cold air system and timing. Was wondering if anybody has any ideas for the set up I'm looking for. Pretty much I want to get my pony up to 300rwhp naturally aspirated, but also I'm looking to add a turbo down the road. All ideas are very welcome.
Thanks

Explorer intake, gt40 heads, cam of your choice, off road midpipe with 2.5 cat back, cold air intake, pulleys, electric fan, should get you pretty close fairly cheaply.....

Pretty close I think, GT40P heads would be better, new valve springs to go with the cam (but 300hp is possible with the stock cam, maybe more work though). Also get the 70mm MAF off of a 94-95 5.0, and try to find an explorer intake that comes with the throttle body (a little work but big savings over aftermarket . . . BTW I have an Exploder TB if you need it PM me). Stock injectors are fine to over 300 hp. 1.7 roller rockers would be good too but again you might need better valve springs for this depending on the cam . . . headers . . . . If you do all of this you should have 300rwhp, almost definitely with a tune (even more perhaps) depending on the condition of your motor, and most of those mods should support more power still w/ power adders or better heads.

not even close, that setup will make an honest 240-260 RWHP

CNC ported aluminum heads, RPMII intake and a good cam will get you close to 300.

:stupid:

I'd probably go with the trickflow setup though. it's all together in one kit and takes only one swipe of the credit card

New series AFR heads. 165s if you are staying NA or the 185s if you have plans down the road for bore/stroke/FI.
Holly System max or Edlebrock plenum
Cam of your choice
Electric fan
3g conversion
24lb inj w/ matching MAF

That should give ya just over 300 rwhp
