35th Anniv Seeking Production Number of 99GT-LE

Voorhees: Thanks for the info on the production data. If you don't mind me asking, how do you get this data?

I have a list on cd in excel format, that I got from the guy who ran the 35th.com registry website(now defunct). It has all VIN's for the 4,628 "Limited Edition" GT's. They are listed numerically from lowest VIN to highest VIN.

Seeking VIN Decoding

This is great!

We just bought a 1999 GT Convertible, black, a quick picture is attached (we've been to busy driving to photograph it much). We think it might be a Limited Edition, but we're not sure, as we bought it from a used car dealer who doesn't know much about Mustangs. It has all the right stuff, but that could be aftermarket, you know?

I've been trying to find information about the VIN, this is so very helpful!

Our VIN # is 1FAFP45X5XF202560

Thanks so much!

No wonder I never got a reply from the 35th.com (defunct). Can you tell me anything about my 1999 LE white convertible. It has 7,000 miles and still looks new. Vin number is 1FAFP45X2Xf224578

Wow only 7000 miles!! Nice. Your GT is # 4186 of 4,628 built according to VIN#

White is the rarest of the "Limited Edition" GT's. Only 515 were built in both coupe and vert'.

:nice:

Thanks Jason, this was incredibly helpful!

According to NADA (re: one of your earlier posts in this thread), the dealer that we bought it from didn't know what he had and under-priced the car! Always feels good to get a deal!

Most dealers were misinformed or not informed from the start, even the original Ford dealers. The 35th "LE" is quite unknown even in the Mustang community.

Did your GT come with the gift package? Ford sent it to all 35th owners in 1999. Even the standard models. But, the "LE" had a better gift package...had a 1/18th scale model of your exact GT. They were nice, had CDs/35th key chain/35thsticker/35th logo leather cd holder. You can still find them on ebay.....for $$$

My then 15 yo daughter and I were waliking thru a parking lot one day when I saw a new 5th gen for the first time. I asked her what she thought of it and she said "it's OK, I guess." "Just OK?" I asked. "Dad" she said, "it's green . . .:nono: if you're gonna have a Mustang, it's gotta be red." Smart kid, huh?:nice:
