TwEECer vs. PMS vs. SCT

Hello All,

'95 Cobra, 147,000 miles, K&N Intake, H-pipe, Flowmaster AT's, no other mods. I do not have a tuner and need to change my timing. I don't race or have many modifications. What is the best choice for a tuner?
TwEECer ~ $550
PMS ~ $939
SCT ~ $269

Pros and cons?

The tweecer and the pms are self tuning devices where as the sct chip is usally only tuned by someone who owns the software. I am told the software is pretty expensive. So any time you continue to mod with sct you have to send your chip back for a retune. Where as the pms and tweecer you can do it on the fly.

i have no experience with the PMS, and pretty green with the tweecer. i like the tweecer because I like the idea of self tuning and understanding what I am doing. It's a big step though for alot of people including myself. I like the tweecer because I bought the RT version and I can datalog.

However you don't need a tuner just to change your timing. remove the spout connector in the passanger side egine compartment. (little grey block in the wiring harness) and twist the dizzy. 10* is base for our cars

What are you trying to obtain?
 
You could also look into getting a moates qaurterhorse. Its basically the same as the tweecer but it has real time data logging and you can change any parameter while the car is running. It also has a lot better support than the tweecer and is updated religiously. Altogether it would cost you about 340 bucks. you can check it out at moates.net. just search for qaurterhorse. you can also learn a lot by doing some reading at eectuning.org. I use the QH and am very happy with it and the support.

IMHO

Moates QH > Tweecer >......PMS as far as self tuning goes.

I put the ... to show a distance in control you get over the eec.

The ease of use is the exact opposite so keep that in mind but with something that gives you more control...it should be at least that much more complicated to learn as you need to learn what/how to use that control.

Not knocking the PMS just that its a tad more expensive for the actual bits and not as much control. PMS is a good bit easier to pick up on how it works.

SCT for our years is really going to be a dyno tune setup/burned chip from somewhere.

Thanks everyone so far, this is great information. I will let you know where I am leaning. As far as the timing, not sure what I need to set it to. I took my car to a dyno and the tech let me know some areas to pay attention to. I have attached my dyno results. He also suggested that I work on getting a better radiator/fan combo since we were only able to do two runs.
