Passenger rear end squeal

I have a 2000 V6 3.8 lt and recently it has developed a squeal from the passenger rear tire when taking off. Today it started squealing while I was going down the highway at about 70 mph (I live in Indiana, Interstate speed limit is 70). I don't really know how to describe the noise except as a metal on metal squeal, if anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated.

is your e-brake engaged? maybe the pistons on the breaks are pressing the pad against the rotor to the point where it wore down the pad and the metal after the pad is contacting the rotor. Do you feel any drag when you are pulling out of a driveway or parking lot? (at low speeds)

Yes probably brakes, How hot does the wheel feel? dragging brakes will create a LOT of heat quickly & not to mention overheated bearings uneven braking etc. Treat this as Urgent it will cause you grief soon enough if left alone!

Aeroman.
