I've suddenly got an extra hundy for a new T5 shifter for my long waiting 69 Cougar project.
Is there a collective preference for a Hurst, or Pro 5.0, razco, or steeda tri-ax? If so, why? I see the steeda ones on the time on corral for ~125 shipped...

I don't like the looks of the B&M lever. I have a Steeda in my 68, and I like it pretty well. I have a Hurst waiting, but it doesnt seem as good of a quality as the others. And then, there are the knock off 'brands' that seem the same, for a lot less money...

I had a Pro 5.0 in a 95 GTS and I can tell you the quality was top notch. It was built very well. You are also able to change handles on it or make a custom one to fit your application better. Roush also has a shifter (not sure on quality) that sits back and offers a lot more of a traditional classic mustang look and feel (handle is curved back like an original). This may actually be a better alternative for a classic. In the S197's many prefer the MGW shifters but again it looks late model and not sure if it will fit your application. Hope some of this info helps.

I have a Pro 5.0 on my Tremec 3550 and really like it, although as mentioned it is definitely bigger then a stock shifter, so i had to open up the shifter hole in my floor to get it to fit.

I have driven my buddy's '04 with a Tri-ax and preferred the feel on mine.
